  1. Had the same problem with my Gen 5.5 V6 Sportivo, had the disks machined, and all better. Our car had only done about 40K at this stage
  2. Hi All, I am buying a 2010 RAV4 Cruiser with a genuine delux nudge bar, and was wanting to see options for spot lights / driving lights. Can you post some pics of your Rav4 with spot lights or driving lights. Regards Dazz
  3. Yep, when we decided what we wanted, Gen 5.5 V6 Sportivo in blue, a quick google and there she was. 30k on the clock and $22K price tag 3 years ago. Yes please we will take it.
  4. Unless you change it, you can pick up a 6 stack mp3 on ebay for about $100 - $150. Takes about 5 mins to change it over. I am sure with practice you could do it even quicker. All the plugs in the back are the same.
  5. I too notice that when the car is cool, the auto will hold in 3rd untill it warms up, then you will 'sort of' feel a clunk into 4th. I do wish the gear ratios were a little more suited to over taking. I find that from 95k/h it will hold in 3rd and not respond as well as it should to get past the car. for 90 k/h it drops to 2nd and there is no stopping it, the car is over taken in no time. I have driven the aurion (rented one for 3 months) and this has a nice box. So i guess there is one reason i would trade in my Gen 5.5 for the aurion. I just like the look of the Gen 5.5 though. I thing, does the 4cl have climate control? Dazz
  6. Hi Riz, We are proud owners of a V6 Gen 5.5 Sportivo, and we get no less than 600klm per tank, no mater how we drive it. Out on the highways, which we do a lot we get beter than that. I am almost certian, if it is safety that you want the V6 has more air bags than the 4 cylinder does. there are other difference too, like 6 stack cd player. If you live in the country then go for the V6, if you only drive in town then it may not mater. And yes it does like then 98 octaine fuel. Cheers Dazz
  7. Yes, mine is a late 2004 V6 Sportivo. It is the one with clear tail lights. I have heard some call it Gen 5.5, or even a face lift 2004. The window is now not working at all, well it stopped working during the week. I took the control panel out and could not see where it could be dirty, it looks like brand new. I gave it a spray with contact cleaner and put it back together. still no go. I suspect it must be the motor, as I can hear the relay clicking when I press the button to the non-auto position.
  8. I have managed to find some time to dedicate to this. I have pulled the switch out, and dismantled it so far, however i am not sure where to go from here. And I can not see and where there is dirty or blackened contacts. I am starting to think this is not where the problem lies.
  9. Hi Maba, I live in a small country town in SE QLD, and I am starting to believe we must have the best Toyota Dealership in AU. I own a 2004 V6 Camry Sportivo, that is now 5 years old and has done 70K. Ken Mills Toyota does all the servicing on it and HAS told us because it is only used on long trips to Brisbane and the like, we should have it serviced every 7500klm. I also have a 2006 RAV4, as a work car, Ken Mills Toyota services this car also, and every time I pick it up or it is delivered back to my home after a service, it is washed, sometimes they even give it a vucum. I have an 18 year old daughter that has a Mazda Astina 1994 model. And Ken Mills Toyota has been very understanding with any repairs she needs done. Not so long ago a boot on the drive shaft was damaged, Ken Mills Toyota made arrangements to get the car to them, they fixed it, and returned the car, for the sum of $110.00. To and 18 year old girl of minimum wages saving to go to Uni, this kind of customer support and focus is invaluable. So I guess what I am trying to point out, first of all is I do understand your pain and frustration, however I dont think we should bag all local dealers. I do believe after following this thread almost from the start, is that; Your local dealer could have made this whole thing go away a lot quicker, if they had just thought about YOU the customer. I would not be too quick to blame TMCA, because if the initial response from Anthony Smith Toyota was a little more sympathetic that I would hope the follow through from TMCA would have been supportive to you and the local dealer. I think this dealer needs a good kick up the ar$e from all the other dealers that are doing the right thing. Maybe a new thread on "Dealerships? The Good, The Bad" and inform others as to where to take thier much loved motor vehicles. Dazz
  10. Thanks, I might leave it for the weekend, when I can dedicate some extra time for it.
  11. Thanks Topdog, I will try that, and let you know what the outcome is. Might even take some pictures, in case it is needed to help someone else. Dazz
  12. When I press the button, I hear a small click, just one for each press, either up or down. Not that the window has ever been stuck in the down position, that would pose a huge problem. The noise is like the sound of a relay clicking on or off.
  13. Hi All, I have a 04 V6 Camry Sportivo, and the front drivers window works sometimes then sometimes it does not. It seems to get stuck, but not sure, if I try pulling the window down while pressing the button it will not budge. Then you can lock the car up and come back in a few hours and it will work as if nothing was ever wrong with it. Could it be getting stuck? Could the motor be worn out? (70K on the clock) Any Ideas? Cheers Dazz
  14. I guess you could call it a roof spoiler. It is the black thing, that fits to the top of the rear window, on the outside to provide shade inside, and I guess it would have some effect on wind flow over the car. Maybe not at the speed my wife drives.
  15. Hi All, Does anyone have or know where I can get a rear window shade for my 2004 Camry? One that looks like the one in this pic. It sits on the top of the rear window, provides shade to rear seats. Cheers Dazz
