  1. Hey mate,

If I'm correct we should have the same alternator but I'm not sure if it is in the same spot?

I got mine fixed not too long ago because it wasn't charging the battery under 1000RPM!

Does your engine look like this:

If so there's 2 main bolts you have to remove and you have to remove the belt from the alternator (but you don't have to take it out completely - just wedge it off from the alternator). Then you have to disconnect everything else.

Now with the bolt it will be complicated and you will need a socket set and a pretty long breaker bar to get both bolts out. Both bolts are located and the back of the alternator in a horizontal position. Unscrew them both and try not to drop the bolts - like me and my mechanic did :)

After that its just a matter of pulling it out after you have disconnected all the wires and the belt. And then just work backwards to put it back in. Dont forget to reset the ECU once you have completed :)

If you have questions PM me I`ll try help you

  2. Just to let you know, they are "TRD" mufflers. Yes they are definitely more expensive than your average joe exhaust place sports muffler but these are from the people that makes them for TRD. Also not sure you realise how light these mufflers are. My TRD muffler, also made by the same people weighed half of what the aftermarket toyota sports muffler before that if that.

also they bolt on directly . easy diy

Only on aurions though - still gotta go exhaust shop for our camry :)

  3. Yeah you'll get used to it haha. I did that for 2 weeks or so - still can't get used to reverse parking though. Cameras might help - I need to get one at the back when I get my touchscreen :)

I had to get used to moving from a camry 2000 (parents' car) to my first car camry 2007.

  4. Yeah they CAN'T be installed on the SL because or sports bumper and sports headlight. Different wiring for the headlight and different bumper :)

Check the site you will be able to see the comparison:

    Sorry I got it wrong.

Basically the SL version has the following:

    • Blind Spot Monitor and Automatic High Beam
    • Rain sensing wipers and electric rear sunshade
    • JBL premium audio system with 7" display and Satellite Navigationand SUNA™ - live traffic data updates
    • Reverse Camerawith path prediction reference lines and auto dipping side mirrors
    • Dual exhaust
    • Sports driving mode with quick response paddle shift technology
    • Power output 135kW

Basically its needs more wiring for Automatic High Beams and various other electronics that it has over all the other versions of the Camry.
