  1. On my 2004 MCX10 need to replace the front LH indicator bulb but cannot remove the headlight assembly. After the screws at the top are removed there seems to be something holding it back at the bottom. I have tried a few youtube vids but they are all for American Avalons and not helpful, and the Gregory's Workshop Manual is pretty useless dealing mainly with the Camry and no illustrations where they say there should be. The rear light assembly is quite easy to remove as I have done this in the past. There must be something retaining the bottom of the light assembly which I can't find. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Thanks for that, I'll have a look under the bonnet soundproof lining.
  3. Does anyone know how remover the washer nozzles on the bonnet without damaging anything. Are they clipped in or do they screw in? Avalon GXI 2004. Thanks for any suggestions.
  4. Does anyone know how to get the cover off the rear passenger reading light with out breaking it to replace the globe, on a 2004 Avalon. Neither the owners manual or the Gregory's manual cover this. many thanks Ivan
  5. No luck so far with the cabin air filter. I think all the websites are talking about the American Avalon, I can't find anything on the GXI. Rang Toyota dealer spare parts and the guy searched his computer and said they don't have one (ie the Avalon GXI doesn't have one)!!! Nuganen, have you had any luck mate? Brackenboy
  6. Hi Nuganen, glad you asked this question. I had no idea there was any such thing, however you will get lots of advice if you google "Avalon cabin air filter". I have a 2004 GXI and will attempt to do this tomorrow as I am going on a long trip next week. Let me know how you get on and I will do likewise. regards Brackenboy
  7. Will probably mess up your speedo and odometer readings !
  8. The only complaint I have with my 2004 Avalon GXI is the headlight setting. I live in a semi rural area and without street lights the low beam setting is useless. It shines about one car length ahead. If there was an object or body on the road I would hit it before I could see it. I have adjusted them as high as they will go and they still only light about 1.5 car lengths ahead. The high beam is ok but I can't use that when other cars are approaching which means I have a blind spot until they have passed and I can revert to high beam. Does anyone else have this problem?
  9. I've just become the owner of a 2004 Avalon GXI, bought because I want to tow a light caravan. The bonus was it came with a factory fitted towbar and oil cooler! I had a 1978 Corolla for 4 years and then an SV21 Camry wagon for 17 years and 362,000km and still running like a dream except the body was starting to give up with leaks and rust. I loved that car, hope I get to love the Avalon as much, it feels a bit strange but guess I will get used to it. Looking forward to others opinions on this site.
