  3. hey all,

I was looking on the AAMI site last night and found something rather interesting which might save people some $$ on compro insurance

AAMI hold "free advanced driver courses" for under 25 who have compro insurance with AAMI (or there rents have compro insurance with AAMI)

I've been told that they are quite good courses and considering its free, it's worth it.

The major benifit is lowering your compro insurance (extra 10% upto the age of 25)

I figured out if I had gone on this course when I got my car (early 2004) and had compro insurance since I got it (1st year $1998, 2nd year $1440, this year $880) I would have saved 431.80 by now

if anyone is interested, let us know and well try get us going as a group

    From AAMI website

Participation for the day costs $165.00 (including GST). However the course is FREE if you, a parent or a grandparent have a current AAMI comprehensive car insurance policy.

all the info is there :D

  4. 2. Who brought up 6x9's? I mean, seriously. Why have 6x9's if you have a subwoofer? If you want a system on a budget then by all means go for it. But if you've lashed out on a sub/amp package why waste further money? To me, it makes no sense. I stand by my claim of 6x9's being a poor man's subwoofer; the extra cone area obviously delivers a bit more thump than a regular 5" or 6" woofer, but at the massive cost of sound clarity.

in my case its because the chicken came before the egg (so to speak) I was slowly building up my car stereo and the budget only allowed for 6" fronts and 6x9" rears plus a head deck.

now that I've had some more $$ to buy stuff and mates getting rid of subs, I lashed out! there is nuffin wrong with 6x9's int eh rear. they prodive a great sound!

i think it comes down to wot you can best fits in yar, and wot doesn't require too cutting :P

In my case, I had to make a small timber platform for the 6" front and 6x9 rears. No holes in parcel shelf. In fact, I got the 6x9's under the toyota rear grill!

  5. very slow night (and day for that matter)
