  1. well im turning 18 in about a month and i got a 03 corolla sportivo. ive looked around online on a few websites to try and get insurance quotes, but all of the ones ive tried have stated that all drivers must be over the age of 25..does anybody know the reason for this? since the car is p-plate legal.. and what insurance company would you recommend?

im 19 and the insurance company im using is just car insurance, its not over the top price and its easy to handle with, visit their website at http://www.justcarinsurance.com.au

  2. I had the same problem on my 05 Corolla all i did was adjust the idle by slightly unscrewing this alen key bolt near the throttle which controls "how open" the throttle is at idle therefore reducing or increasing the idle speed. I put it up to 900 rpm now i dont get those shudders anymore

or you can do that, i had a rough idle on my cressida and adjusted it to idle between 800-1000rpm

  3. The revs are sitting around 600 in drive and are higher in n.

I've done about 93000km in the car and for over a year I have witnessed a rough idle that cause the car to vibrate. The vibrations are worst when the car is in drive and they become better when the selector lever is moved into neutral. I went to my dealership with the problem and last year they changed something called an idling valve? Didn't really fix the problem and indeed I believe that they had no clue what on earth they were doing. The dealership also said something about my tachometer showing about 200rm less than the engine was actually doing. All sounds a bit fishy to me! The vibrations get worse as the rpms fall, so I think that they do have something to do with the actual speed of the engine

when was your last service? there are many reasons a car may run rough at idle maybe it is need of an oil/filter change and spark plugs, also reset the ecu.
