  1. sounds like a simple wheel ballance problem. or maybe even a tyre that isnt quite round anymore.. but iv seen stranger things happen. jsut hope for the best i supose.
  2. Just sayin hey...hey! hopefully you fellas are all pretty friendly. also, any other 2.8 turbo hilux owners out there?
  3. injector pump* best place is your local diesel workshop. a reconditioned pump ussually costs between $500 - $1500 depending on what car.
  4. if its black smoke at high load/revs, sounds like its just way too rich. or its not burning the fuel you have properly, but you say compression is good? so makes me think whoever tuned it for you is a bit heavy handed on the fuel screw. try a test for me. hold the throttle so its at the point before it starts to blow smoke, now flatten it. is there any difference in power? probly not. all that extra fuel is doing nothing but going out the exhaust. you can probly do it yourself. back off the max fuel screw about half a turn (screw it anti-clockwise) until the smoke reduces. you cant hurt anything.
  5. I'm in the process of making my 3l hilux go good. I'm jsut wondering if anyone else has tried, failed, whatever..? i currently have 100hp at the wheels with a heap of boost, but safe fuel levels. i put a 3" exhaust on it. next step is an intercooler.
