  1. Havent checked in here for a while. Your car is amazing dude!! loving all the lights and details youve added. You did a great job on the wheels too. :D

Im with noodlez though, it needs a drop ;)

  2. Relax dude. I wasnt being rude, and it wasnt even sarcasm.

The cost of second hand coilovers is so cheap these days its hard to pass by, and its not difficult at all to make them comfortable. A mate just bought a set that cost him $550 shipped to his door, theyre also the comfy Tein super-streets... just sayin'

If you are an inexpierienced P-plater then drive the car as is, do some motorkhanas and track days to get lots of seat time driving the car hard. It will pay dividends over modified suspension. Then learn what each component does and how it effects the balance of the car... then you start modifying.

  3. Then just get softer spring rates if youre too soft for coilovers... the beauty of them is their adjustability and the ease of swapping components.

I run 10/8kg springs in my car and it weighs 900 kg with mac struts all round. I still daily on it and its not bad at all IMO... no dramas with potholes (because i drive around them as you should with any car) and speed bumps you should slow down for anyway, theyre there for a reason.

  4. Youll need to change the gearbox oil and brake fluid afterwards for sure.

Theres no way you can go easy on the brakes and box at the track... actually going 'easy' on the brakes is worse because you are applying less pressure for a longer period of time it actually creates more heat than stopping quicker.

And unless you are rolling in neutral around the track (which you wont be) then there is always going to be stress on the box. If you want your gearbox to last the abuse change it right after, as time goes on you will see it will crunch and not go into gear if you leave this oil in for too long...

  5. I think they might look a tad small due to the massive lips... the faces look like they were made for a 14" wheel! :|

I prefer these over the white ones you had :)

    Heard good things about centreline!

What are you getting done Duy?

  6. penrite

Penrite engine oil is absolutely S**T!!! I used to run it, then went nulon which was way better and now liqui moly which is better again, in fact so good that my motor leaks from places that i never even knew existed!! LOL! :D

Another important thing is to change your gear box oil. IMO its more important than having fresh engine oil when youre racing, gearbox oil will make it so that your box will change smoother, and reduce crunching. I change my gearbox oil before and after I track the car. If its daily use i change it every 20,000. I use 75-90 Western Oil Syngear with a heat resistance additive, the name escapes me which one it is...

Engine oil i change every 4,000 (4AGE's tend to turn their oil black pretty quickly)

As Ben said, brake fluid and pads are also a critical thing to maintain! Penrite racing fluid and QFM A1RM pads work best IMO :)
