  1. Nice pics :D u guys & girls r keen for photos thats all i can say- it was great to see guys climbin sand dunes, wet grassy hills, anythin & everythin 2 get some great snaps of our cars, I look 4ward to the next one....

...was funny to show up & see a guy im pretty sure i went 2 primary skool with & another who was above me in high skool.... not sure if they thought the same about me

Yea i was thinkin the same too, but wasnt sure enough to say something :S

    You name is rebeca right?

  2. Just replace the whole unit if this is the case. Can't be to expensive people spend more at maccas drive through these days.

Eh? replace the whole thing? U mean the whole Tacho? or all the LEDs to another colour?

Hmmm if i can only change the whole thing.....maybe might just go to white then....like the Levins...They're dash is nice..... ^_^ B) :)

    Looks very nice, great idea

  3. jus wonderin i connected my amp 2 the stock HU but i tapped in2 the front speakers ne diffence in output from front n back?

    thnks kym

    huh??? :blink::blink::blink:

hmmm.... ok i ran my amp off the front speakers which i bypased through the wires to the speaker input of my amp... wit me???

now i was wondering if the rear speaker output in watts, rms wat eva, is higher in the back than the front speakers... hope that is a bit clearer.

    thanks

I think all channels are the same?!? just the front channels are split with a set of tweeters. I just wanted to tap into the rear cuz i was thinkin about the amp in the boot, but maybe i could use the fronts, i dont think it makes any difference. Hope this helps

  4. You only need a RCA Convertor if either your amp only has RCA in and your head unit does NOT have RCA out, or vice-versa, your head unit has RCA out you want to utilise but your amp only has hi/lo in...

Most amps have hi/lo as well as RCA, so if you are using your stock HU, then just use the hi/lo input...

IMO - RCA convertors create unneccessary signal noise

Do i need a special connector to connect into the Hi level input in the amp?

  5. I broke mine ages ago nearly a year ago now and i had it quoted and nob at toyota said that i have to get the whole centre console replaced for 200$ just for the little tiny piece of black plastic as the door wouldnt stay on so i just left the door off and havnt gone back since i want the door back on but im not paying that much so i dunno im out of warranty as the car is an early 03 model so i dunno im stuck i guess

Does any one know how i reattach the spring that fell out when i took out this little door?

  6. Yes, there is a loom that runs along the passenger side with the black and yellow wires in there. Be careful though and make sure you have a circuit tester to check that they are in fact the speaker wires, as there are 2 sets of black and yellows in there.

I didnt do the drivers side (pappa guiseppi did that side), but if you have the wiring diagram (do a search and you should find it on here), you should be able to locate the correct wires.

So would it be better to get a HI-Low RCA converter or just get a amp with a High level input?

  7. Not everyone wants to drive the Old Pacific, that's why you can take it if you wish on the way back.

For the main cruise you have to accommodate EVERYONE'S needs, not the needs of most or the the needs of some... EVERYONE...

Can I just say it's a big job to organise a cruise of this size and Tom, Mish, Mintos and Aimee are doing a great job. Just let them organise it and accept what they say...

    Add me to the list

  8. Was this dyno done on the same day and tied down to the dyno the same way and same force??

Same dyno but 15 odd months apart plus Apexi safc installed and set to who knows what??

Far too many variables to blame one particular thing :o

Yet again Rollamods your talking about yourself and your tools doing a job that nearly 90% of people on here could not do or do successfully. You should know better than to put ideas into peoples heads that could see them injurying themselves badly.

Shure wouldn't like that hanging over my head :(

Apexi Safc yes is installed and is running stock everything thank you very much.. yes same dyno and funnily enough 4 degrees colder on this test date compared to the 15mnth ago dyno day... anything else?

    explain my dyno curve

excuse my noobness, but what is SAFC? ive searched but couldnt find anything

  9. The stock unit has NO RCA's. Correct.

If your going to splice into the rear wires, your best bet is under the sill scuff panel, this will allow you to run the wires straight into your amp under the passenger or drivers seat. No need to get the door card off.

Beware if you have a facelift model, as we found that although the wiring colours according to the diagram were correct, they were coming from different pins in the plug when compared to the wiring diagram on this site.

    Hope this helps.

The Rear Left speaker wires should be Black (+) and Yellow (-), or Green (+) and Green /w Black Stripe (-)?

So the speaker cable runs under the door kick plastic panel ? I dont want to cut the wrong one :S

  10. hmmm that works .. but not where i ran marios .. marios power cable went in very very neatly ...

and with stock speakers .. dont bother running off the amp ... run it off the HU ..

u mean you wouldnt use a amp for the sub, just conect it like a rear speaker?

    no no no ...

run the sub off the amp ..

run the stock rear speakers of the HU

    Thanks,

So the Stock 6Disc has no Low level outputs on the back, only speaker outputs?

And if so Has any one take their rear door apart before?

Thats exactly what toyota told me, it just ran out of warranty as i bought it second hand, i was thinkin of making some make shift hinges so i could just reattach the door, or maybe velcro as a last resort so the centre console looks "whole"

  13. Roughly about a 9-15kw gain depending on the car. Toyota's build tolerances on the Sportivo are very wide so some cars gain more than others but all do gain much needed torque and also peak power.

My car with TRD CAI, CES headers and CES cat back made 118kw atw at the last CES dyno day about 2 weeks ago.

Do CES hav a workshop in sydney? and how much for headers + catback?

  14. no there are no rca outputs

on the last stivo i installed on I ran the cable through a gromet on the passenger side ...

its about the size of a 5 cent coin .. nothing running though it at the moment . .just sealed with that rubber gromet ...

pull the gromet out and feed the cable in ...

from the inside... take out the glove box .. coz it will make it heaps easier ..

Mario - If you read this maybe you can post a pic of where your power cable runs through the firewall

Where abouts is this grommet? So you piggy backed of the rear speakers and ran it into the HIlevel input on the Amp?

ummm its pretty hard to explain where it was ..

imagine you are sitting in the passenger seat ...

its inline with the right side of your glove box ...

just look under the bonnet for the 5 cent size rubber gromet .. its pretty clear ..

and re your rear speakers .. its up to you if you want to run it off the amp or off the HU .. depends in your gear ??????

what are you planning to run

Just an average powerful amp ~200Watts RMS and prob a 10 or 12 inch sub just to extend the bass response of the system abit more into the lower region :)

  16. re used both gaskets and there is few bolts you have to undo along the top of the headders/heat shield appart from that its all under the car.

Is there much to gain in getting a good set of headers? or would my money be better spent on getting a cat back? i have heard the CES is good. They just port and polish and ceramic coat the stock headers dont they?

CES Catback is a good choice, the CES headders fill the gap in the low-mid range even more just makes the car easier to drive even more again.

How much power increase can i expect from a Catback and Headers from CES? i also have a TRD CAI with a K&N filter
