  1. TSport = UK/European the same as our Sportivo

    RS = Jap Sportivo.

    Sportivo = Australian version.

    They were probably just badges. The TSPORT front grill is the same as the AU Sportivo but with different badges.

    Theres TSport Rollas and so forth as well.

  2. Has anyone got a TRD Clutch plate, but running with the standard Clutch Cover?

    TRD Japan recommend that u run both the Clutch Plate + Clutch Cover as a pair ... though a mate has come into possession of a brand new Organic TRD Clutch Plate/Disc .. and wants to know if it'll go into his car without any problems . (hes got a 2003 1ZZ-FE corolla)

  3. Excellent summary guys ........ i knew that they are close together, saves on installation costs if u get both at the same time .... and by the sounds of it, its worthwhile to do both at once.

    One other question,

    Will a clutch get progressively worse, or can it just die for no reason?

    Mine will slip fairly bad after short sessions of thrashing or flat changing. However, if i park it, leave it fro an hour and wait for it to cool down ... i can then drive it all day sensiblyt and it'll be ok. Im just scared that once day its not gonna keep doing this.

  4. Is it necessary to replace the flywheel at the same time as the clutch, or isnt it necessarry?? Whats the advantage of a lightened flywheel?

    After 43,000kms my little echos clutch is slipping badly after short periods of thrashing (im a hoon) ... and its time to go shopping soon.

    Any WEBSITE URLS of places to buy TRD/Toms products would be appreciated.

  5. I had a rather inspirational 'cruise' along side a Black Corolla Sportivo the other nigth at about 11:45am up flemington rd / Mt.Alexander Rd. I had the black echo with Corolla Sportivo Rims and plates OZECHo ...

    Also honked a Red Sportivo last night with red custom pLates 'AXsomething' ... i think he was at that photoshoot meet? I could be wrong :)

  6. Have driven a Sp23 for 2 days straight, and having a 300m fang up the road in PeeKays car ..... there is no comparison, the Toyota would win hands down as far as acceleration goes. The Sp23 is very comfy and a lot more modern looking, but a the end of the day u cant beat toyota for resale value and reliability. The base model Sp23 is also a bit skimp on features i thought, and the bright red/blue dash/console at night is a bit harsh on the eyes.

    Put it this way,

    You can try and compare a SP23 to a Corolla Sportivo

    You can also try and compare the Corolla Sportivo to a Integra Type R (VTEC vs LIFT)

    You could NEVER compare a SP23 to a TypeR

    If u want a comfy cruiser that will get a lot of looks, grab a SP23.

    If u want a comfy cruiser that u might take to the track or hills, grab a Corolla!

    Eitherway, i didnt feel the SP23 was as good as it was hyped up to be!

  7. Getting your 'original springs re-coiled' simply means they will heat them up and COMPRESS THEM ... leavig u with a lower, but bumpier ride as the spring rate has decreased dramatically. Most insurance companies dont agree with it so be careful. IF you want to do it right the first time, spent the money and dont be a tightasss. Recoiling/Compressing springs might be a cheaper option for people who simply want to go lower, but for those who are performance orientated - compressing springs is definitely a backwards step.

    NO ONE should talk up their car unless they have the proof. Anyone can say their car is 'faster' .. but no-one will believe it unless uve got the times and people have seen it in action.

    Dyno Sheets dont mean much if the power cant be put to the ground - wheels, tyres, driver ability and MANY other factors come into play - when it comes to who has a faster car, times are what count.

    I recommend you all take a Sunday daytrip to Heathcote .... 45bux to race, and u'll get in AT LEAST 10 runs. I've done it a few times and regardless of how slow my econobox echo is, its heaps fun. if u are wondering hwo slow the 1.3L was... i pulled a 18.00 three times.
