  1. youll only need a capacitor if your sub is drawing too much current and say the lights are dimming in the cabin or the sub runs out of juice when their are multiple beats in a row.
  2. well of corse you could always argue that with any problem the design isnt at fault and that its the driver. so if your implying that its the way i drive you are probibly correct, i drop the clutch alot but i dont ride it, not in trafic not on hills and not while changing gears..... i did buy a heavy duty clutch for a heavy duty purpose though. i think the oem center seems to be a good way to go. thanks for the replies
  3. the pbr was installed by a crap mechanic in chatswood. from their on in ive been going to a guy in lindfield whos a champ, ever time ive broken something hes done right by me with high quality work fly wheel machined, brand new clutch kits for both the exidys... i know coz im their when its happening talking to them. everything is aligned with the corect tools. i dont rev out my engine when i get new clutchs, only to about 3,000rpm for two weeks (1,000km) i slowly warm is up for another week just to get used to it when changing at high rpm and then i give it heaps from their on in. so 1500 km before it gets thrashed, its slipping when i take it in, so their is damage to the clutch plate but the guy said im destroying my presure plate, im not into my burn outs ay just dumping it into gears. if you have a number for this guy at st marys ill give him a call with what he recomends, other wise ill try your exidy and oem mix. im off to get a exhaust soon, im just doing the shopping for my parts atm, something nice and clean, ive done the suspension 100% overhaul of every part bushing and arm, even a new steering box. exhaust next then clutch followed soon after. thanks for your quick reply, im surprised to hear that the newer strolas have similar clutchs the worst part about my car is my clutch, its the only thing ive had major problems with, if your exidy oem mix doesnt work ill investigate getting a custom built clutch ive heard good things.... alot of money though
  4. gday trd. your battery/ alternator is more than large enough to run 550watts. might i sugest that you drive your car more often, batterys dont like being left around in garages. it will only discharge while your not using it, regular usage of your car will result in elongated battery life. i drive my ae102r 500km a week and my battery is a standard nrma which is now almost 5 years old. your sound system unless faulty wont be drawing any power.
  5. gday all. i just joined this club the other day. i have a 1997 corolla conquest sedan 5spd 1.8L. ive been through 3 clutchs with in 35,000km. 2 standard (10,000) PBR, (10,000) EXIDY. i then went out and bought a EXIDY heavy duty which has lasted about 5,000km longer and its not sliping just yet but it is about to go. i dont launch it off the line and 95% of the time im taking off from the line at about 900rpm. what i do though is when im giving it some ill drop the clutch into gears and ill down shift but i am matching the engine speed to with in 100rpm of gear box speed if not perfect. does any one know of a spacific clutch that can take a beating with out dying so quickly? i know its alot to ask but surely their is a ceramic clutch made for my year model that isnt patheticly weak. and no im not prepared to change the way i drive..... so dont sugest it, i love the sound of my engine when its hitting the rev limiter thanks for any responces hope to meet you at a club meet in sydney
