The new part they put in is the solid pipe, would be pretty stupid to put back in a rubber one. They have parts in stock but they are for ones that come in leaking. They are waiting for parts from Japan
-
I also had a set of the slide industries coilovers, i had a set of BCs before that which wernt too bad. The slides had decent spring rates so you can put bigger and wider wheels on with minimal scrubbing.
Coilovers would be the way to go if you want to go low.

If you get a set of vernier calipers, the measurement on the outside of the shoes is 189.7mm, set it to that and it should be pretty good
-
the cable adjuster is located next to the park brake, you will need a 10mm spanner and a 10mm deep socket to adjust itI have the same problem, effectively no park brake, I have 2 aurions and did the adjustment at the disc when I replaced the rotors, sanded the inner part of the new rotors with co**** paper, roughed up the brake shoes, cleaned it all and adjusted. It works very well now.
Question - where is the cable adjustment done? Wifes car has the pedal going to the floor almost and it still does pretty much nothing.

Not really worth installing a panel filter, unless you get a short ram or a cold air intake, even then, there is next to no power gains but the intake noise sounds kinda good

you should be good for the front, but you will scrub hard on the rear without "modifying" thingsHey guys please ignore my ignorance on this topic, but I'm not sell versed when it comes to wheels.
I have a 2010 ZR6 with Pedders suspension and 19". I want to upgrade my rims to 20s and found a guy selling the rims I want with the following specs -
ftont - 20x8.5 and rear - 20x9.5
+32 offset front and +35 Rear
Will my car handle 9.5 at the back and I got not much close bout offsets. Should I expect scrapage?
I had 19x9.5 +37 all round and i had to make the rears fit
-
did you lower it with lowered springs or coilovers?Lowered my 2011 Sportivo Sx6, worst decision ever, just have to angle it well
-
I had 19x9.5 +37 all round, if you lower your car you will need to roll guards. But the wheels will sit out of the guards if at stock height (due to no natural camber)
I had to "modify" things to stop it from scrubbing at the height i was at. I had 245/35 tyres, if i did it again i would get a smaller tyre size

You should've also got the spark plugs last service.
Also the clunk would be from the parking paw coming off the park gear, if your handbrake is no good then some of the vehicle weight will be taken up by it.

Nothing to worry about, there are cars that come into my work like this all the time.
My Aurion was alot worse than this as it was pretty low :)

:O how dare you. Hahaha :PIs the IS-F the new Commodore? :P
They are a superb car to drive
-
yes, that is very excessive, if you do the job correct, it shouldnt need a wheel alignment(thats also a expensive wheel alignment, the place i work at charge $69 for a full W/A), as for the labour, it only takes not even 30 mins to do it so i don't know where they got that price fromthey charged $452.90 for part,$472.50 for labour and they said they had to do a wheel alignment to which cost$121.50 ( 4 Wheels) Do you think this was excessive?
-
why did it cost so much? Surely they could'nt have charged $500 labour,,it only takes like half an hour to do it if that.I have just had to have my intermediate shaft spline replaced in my Aurion, at a cost of $1000 . only done 47,000ks as this was a known fault i reckon toyota should at least pay for the part $495 even though out of warranty now , anyone have the same problem

Hope you guys never lower your cars lol
The key is to angle it up the driveway, not go straight for it like i see most people do

-
possibly later on but you should'nt really worry about it as they came out with a modified shaftIs this intermediate shaft spline issue still a problem in newer models to watch for?
-
Most of that is labour cost, dealers charge ridiculous labour rates
-
If you're looking for a bbk, k-sport make calipers for the Aurion, alot cheaper than Brembo lol
-
I also sold my Aurion for an ISF, lol
Awesome car to drive
-
If you lower with king spring you should'nt have any problems with speed bumps, just have a bit more angle if you go up steep driveways
-
There is only one one set of lowered springs for the aurions, not like commos haha

he would be talking about king springs etc, they only lower it upto 40mm, whereas coilovers can go over 100mm. My coils hace lowered it like 60mm and nowhere near maxed outcoilover would be better
he just said that coilovers arent low enough for him
so in this case, bags would be better

Not the best pics, but you get a rough understanding of height. I also had lows which were the only ones that were available at that time.
