  1. a few people have told me that in 4x4 with the traction on, it will eventually stuff my diff?? I thought it worked off of the brakes.
  2. Hi guys, I have just bought the new double cab 4x4 Hilux 4ltr petrol and so far im pretty happy with it. I was told at the dealer to turn the traction control off when 4wheel driving. when in h4 I have to press the button to turn the traction control off. when in L4 the stability automatically turns off (the light comes ON) but to turn the traction control off I have to hold the button for around 7-10secs. Q. Should I be turning the traction control off while in L4 or leaving it on? I didn't realy notice the difference on or off, the hilux seems to climb everything that ive attempted to go up so far without a lift kit which leads me to another problem being the exhaust that crosses over underneath the gearbox mount and hangs rather low for my liking, and would hope I can have this modified in the future.
  3. I dont think it got much past 3000rpm if i did. I was in top gear and dont even think it had thw chance to even kick back when it happened. Ill give the box a look :-)
  4. I put about 30ltrs of ULP98 from a different servo to my norm, about20ks before it happened. but in an richer area where ULP should be a popular fuel. Done 5ks sat for 3hrs then down the hill. No it hasnt seemed any different since. Toyota couldnt see any CPU readings on the episode and have no clues???
  5. I was driving along the HWY this evening at 95-100 and went to give it a squirt to go around a slower car, i didnt go and let off as traffic was coming up quick in the right lane but i thought bugger it ill make it and give it another squirt, the engine started to go, then spluttered (no power) and as i let off i could hear a rattling sound for about 3-4 seconds so i nursed it home the 2-3ks. when i got home i let it idle for a min then got the missus to stomp on it but it sounded normal?? Temp was aprox 25deg travel time was 16 mins, 10mins down hill, 6mins HWY fresh PULP 3/4 from red light Any Ideas??
  6. The only thing Ive ever received from Toyota is pain, i would still buy another Toyota would love a 4l supercharged hilux.
  7. I am only kidding Daryl, but sincerely Thank you for your info and help. I hope you can excuse me for being so thick but there is soo much to read my brain hurts.

  9. Why doesn't Toyota send out communications to owners regarding recalls??
  10. You can see where that oil line is if you look at the guide that I created. You will find the link in the FAQ.... however I will be nice this time: 2GR-FE VVT-i Oil Line Replacement <- Hint: Look at the left side of the engine when you are facing it from the front. And just so you know, the TRD one does not look like the one in the above photo. It's more like this (excuse my crappy drawing) because it goes via a different path: My bad Daryl, i did whatch the vid after i made the post. My TRD has only just been serviced and still has the original hose, they did tell me my belt had cracks n needs replacing. im only guessing but by the look of the hose it is meant to be straight in line with the tubes, mine has an s bend in it and i can see stress being forced on the hose. might be able to get the belt in easier/cheaper whist replacing the hose on recall??
  11. Is there any development on the TRD rotors? The last time i tried to source a set other than "genuine" i would of had to modify them to suit. i think it was around the 80k mark the last i tried to replace the rotors and it was all too hard for anyone. I tried to get them skimmed, no-one would do it so i put a set of HD pads on and have been getting around with this horrible squeal and i'm over it.Now i'm going do what i should have done in the first place, replace them. Any latest results for advice?
  12. Hey Adam i feel pain for you. With my first engine there was a vacume hose that kept popping of the blower, that made it run **** and stall. we had to put a clamp on it to stop it comming off. Luke do you have a pick of where this oil line goes?
