Hi folks, I've joined this group to find out more about RAV4s so I can buy the right one! Currently in Victoria, I'm moving to Perth, WA soon and will be looking at buying a RAV4 in the range $5,000 - $10,000. I'm not interested in frills, just want a straight car that doesn't cost the world to run or maintain. I know norhing about them, so any basic info would be greatly appreciated. do they have a diesel model? what are their main problems? engine? body? drive train? transmission? 3- door or 5- door? auto or manual? can they take a tow bar?, tow a trailer? at what sort of kilometers on the clock do they die? any comments appreciated. I know nothinhg about them, so some basics would be greatly appreciated, for example do they come in a diesel or hybrid model? is 3- or 5- seats better? can they tow a trailer? what are their common mechanical/body problems?
