Using a Google search, I located the following Topics on this Forum.

    https://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/38597-best-speakers-for-the-front/

Just read a few posts so I am sure they will be relevant.

After you pick up your new Camry V6, I hope that you will share and post a review and hopefully some quarterly updates. Is it worthwhile upgrading, what is worthwhile and what can be improved etc?

Since its a new platform and most US sites mention a JBL option which Aussie delivered Camrys don't have, I thought I'd ask here.

I know the Aurion platform pretty well (I've owned my prodigy for 6 years now) and know for a fact the speaker locations and driver sizes are different.

So far I've been able to ascertain that rears are a 6" driver and the're a strong chance the fronts are a 6" split system. There's also provision for what looks like an 8" sub on the rear deck. Either way, I'll do a write up and provide ownership updates. There's not a lot of Aussie 70-series V6 Camry content 😞

    Watch this space 🙂

  2. Hi All,

I'm picking up my brand new V6 Camry SX with moonroof option in mid April but have already decided I need to upgrade the speakers.

I could not see any posts around it so I ask the question: Has anyone upgraded the speakers on their new Camry? US websites are no good since they get the JBL option (wish we had it!). From the looks of the grills, i tipping they'd be 6" components in front and 6" full range in the rear doors  I'm thinking Alpine R-Series splits up front and co-axial in rear doors.

Any help/ideas are much appreciated 🙂

  4. Hey Guys- I have been following this thread with interest for a while now and this week I finally had my dash replaced for free on my 07 Aurion sportive SX6. The difference is night and day. See below for before and after pics.

What a difference! Mine is nothing like your before pic, I still want mine replaced though haha did they say it would happen again or is the new dash made of something different?

  5. Hi All,

I don’t know about other people, but over the years of owning my Aurion, I've found the clear coat flaking off over time. The worst spots are the side mirrors and on
the handles. The handles I will look after once they get worse- its only barely noticeable. The left side mirror is shocking to say the least, basically, the top part, most of the clear coat is gone, after much searching on ebay, I've found a black replacement which is to be in good condition - Will fit it and post detailed pics.

Just looking for your thoughts and ideas on the paint quality finish or am I just experiencing this as i have a black car?..

  6. I've seen a few methods on YouTube and the like, but with my work schedule, I haven’t got much time to much time to myself as is plus this guy is providing a 3 year warranty so I'm assuming he's going to re-seal/re-coat the lenses. Will start a new thread and post before/after pics. If i think the result is worth it, ill pass on his contact details :)

  7. I have only got what's above, but happy to help if you need it.

It's not to hard, if you can get your door cards off without breaking them you will be fine.

The hardest part I found was getting the fabric on without sticking itself together.

Once you get the hang of it it's easy.

What are you planing for yours?

I'd like to do what you've done.. But right now im chasing a set of Presara wheels and some coil overs - Changing back to stock standard with a bit of lowering.. Right now I have a failry decent Boston Accoustics/Sound Stream audio system to be installed. Also possibly changing to an after market Alpine double din DVD/Nav system.. but the idea of a bmw e92 335i coupe is always on my mind lol

  8. I second that. I converted to HID low beams and foggies on sunday. Low beams are easy accessed from engine bay, foggies are easier from underneath- just remove the under pannels with a 10mm spanner or socket.

I bought some T10 SMD 5050 LED parker globes on ebay, just waiting for those to be delivered.

Also got a professional coming around to restore my headlight lenses - they're oxedised :(

  9. I once had the king SL springs (front and rear) in my '08 prodigy with stock standard shockers on 18" wheels (235/40 rubber), found it stupidly low, so I had to remove them. I'm thinking of a 20" wheel at some stage but for now on 18s, It's too low. I think If you have standard 16" or 17" wheels, you should be OK given the bigger over-all rolling diameter.

For reference, this is how mine looked..

  10. Congrats on your new ride! Excellent mileage you have there!

I'm on the other end of the spectrum.. 180,XXX kms and counting!

Given the MY of the car and very low KMs, I'd be at least changing the oil, oil filter and air filter even if a service is not required according to the log book.

    OK,

Black plastics, I use Forever Black-http://www.autobarn.com.au/forever-black-bumper-trim-reconditioner-236ml-fb080
used it on my previous rides and swear by it.

Chrome plastics- I'm not too sure on, but I've learnt to live with mine fading away :(

Chrome metals- I only use Meguiar's NXT generation metal polish and love this stuff too.

Make sure your car has had all the recalls performed on it, take it to a dealer and they can look up the VIN to ensure its all up to date.

!BEWARE! - At some stage you will need to replace the VVT-I oil cooler pipe. It will just bust while you're driving, no warning, no nothing. Thankfully you have SUPER low K's so that's a few years down the track for you. I did mine at a dealer was quoted $1500, but after having a chat to the manager etc, I got it for $900 including a 160k service. If you're a mechanic give it a try yourself, but its NOT recommended..

Dash rattles are common on these cars, there aren't any fixes as such, you'll just need to take apart the offending panels, put something in to stop the rattle and re-assemble..
