  1. Does anyone know who the manufacturer was for the Toyota Genuine optional lowering springs for the Gen5 Camry? The kits are no longer available from Toyota and I was just curious who the manufacturer was in case they still made them for aftermarket sales. I am looking for something of decent quality that doesn't harshen up the ride too much.

Your best bet would be to go with a set of King lows, they are firmer than the stock Altise, but not unconfutable by any means, as Andrew said.

    Mitchell.

  3. The fog lights will come on if you have just the park lights on, that’s what most people who have just their fogs on are doing.

But you should be aware that driving with you fog lights on in clear weather day or night is illegal in many states now, especially NSW.

  4. well heads up guys, just got an email and it looks like the traffic laws (in queensland) have been amended to say that driving with foglights on in conditions that don't warrant their use with earn you a fine. I never looked up what the law said previously, but this is what it'll mean now. Furthermore even if the light is only half illuminated, you'll have a hard time arguing that they were designed that way from factory to run all the time considering the QPS uses Aurion's themselves.

Other changes were something like the driver is now responsible for their passengers not wearing a seatbelt, and something else that escapes me right now.

New road laws effective from 12/10/09

That is true. That said though as I mentioned earlier, in Brisbane the cops only seem to enforce it depending on the day they are having. I have driven past many cops (including an Aurion cop with HIS fog lights on) and haven't been stopped.

According to QT it wasn’t illegal to drive with fog lights on in QLD previously, but as of Monday its a $40 dollar fine.

  5. Yeah your right redracer, as the engine warms up the coolant expands, consequently it flows into the overflow tank, then once the engines is turned off and starts to cool it will start to pull coolant back into the radiator. Hence the full line on the overflow is only about half.

  6. Sorry to hijack, I know the whiteline struct doesn't fit the V6 since the product description mentioned (excl V6).

As I understood the Gen 5 Sportivo came with a struct brace, does this mean this brace is only present on the I4 Sportivo but not the V6? Doesn't really make much sense if that's true.

Well with the gen 5 Sportivo the genuine Toyota brace fits both the I4 and V6. but it seems the white line one doesn’t bend up like the Toyota one making it more ridged. consequently it may not clear the V6 as it takes up more room.

  7. The guy at Toyota said that my cars coolant was the green coloured coolant and that Toyota only used the red coloured coolant ( can anyone confirm this ? )

Yes that’s correct, the genuine Toyota long life coolant is red.
