  1. Yeah, usually I'd just put up with it but I spend around 3 hours a day traveling to and from work. Bought a blaupunkt autofun antenna, so we'll see how that goes.
  2. Nah I have a Pioneer AVIC-F40BT. Set me back $1600. You'd think reception would be crystal clear. Deff not the case I can assure you.
  3. I decided to do it anyway the other day... I hooked it up to the 12v accessory yellow wire...made no difference. I'm now convinced that its the aerial. Either just poor quality or it has some sort of interference in the line. Maybe because its in sort of mixed with the demister. Or both. But yes, I had it originally hooked up with the amp sensor wire and it worked fine (aside from the current issue. I installed a pioneer aftermarket head unit. What are my options with installing a better quality aerial? I've never really seen any aftermarket ones.
  4. Photo's of current set up....
  5. Brought up an old thread accidentally in the Camry area, but this problem is very similar to what someone was having over there with there camry sportivo. Radio reception is poor, with one radio channel in particular has quite poor reception. Looking at the way I have it set up, the orange wire comes into my radio harness and is looped with a blue wire, in the spare pin terminal (Pin 9 I think). This wire then goes to my headunit and also a remote sensor for my amp. Is this correct way of doing it? Would it be powering the antenna correctly? Could I cut that loop and solder on the red(accessory) +12v to the orange antenna power?
  6. Probs shouldnt of brought this up, just realised its in the Camry thread.

  8. Mine usually sits on around 7.3-7.6. I drive between Geelong and Melbourne, approx 200km's a day. About the flattest most boringest road you will come across. I'm lucky in that I rarely hit peak hour traffic, thanks to shift work. Sit on 110 (probs 105 with the inaccurate speedo), only ever used 91ULP.
  9. Shezzzzezzz. Would cost them all of about 3 cents to make I recon. Anywhere online??
  10. Anyone know where I can pick up a few of these plastic fasteners they use to pin down a lot of the interior trim pieces? Usually white little things, some are a light green? Opened up some areas so much now that they have started to fail.
  11. That top one has the same screen as my head unit now, genuine pioneer product from aus. AVIC-F40BT I think it was....
  12. pretty sure i had it thru the preouts to an amp. The one i had was an 8" one from extinx. It cost about 400 bucks, didnt have any GPS software (but could install it).
  13. I found the audio quality to be shocking with the unit I got. This was a big factor to me as i spend a few hours a day in my car. The interface was also buggy so I went for a pioneer nav unit. Way better. As it goes, you pay for what you get.
  14. Has anyone installed a better powered antenna? I'm convinced the current one is not powerful enough... If so what did you use?
  15. It's on one of the 4 bolts that secures the passenger seat to the frame
