  1. Hi all, I've noticed the other night while I was driving, these little flashes of light coming from multiple places along the side of my rear window. I managed to find it was coming from the rear demister. It looks as though the rear pillar trim has rubbed through the tint and against the demister.

    How would one fix this?

Is it a new rear window?

    Any help would be appreciated

  2. Hi nat,

Is your Bluetooth through the stereo? Or a separate unit?

I have the stock unit that comes in the Prodigy. It is just a basic six stacker with FM 1 & 2 AM.

I bought a Genuine Toyota Bluetooth kit for $40 from eBay, was on sale from $350 couldn't say no.

I also bought an after market iPhone 4 cable and control unit off eBay, I think it was also about $40 but can't recall exactly.

And finally, I bought an aux cable with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

I bought the aux cable months before I found the iPhone cable so I don't realy need them both as the iPhone cable comes with one as well, ow ever it is handy as I can have one in the front and one in the back.

You have to do a slight mod for this set up, and I mean it's a tiny mod, but it's all plug and play and still has the steering wheel functions too.

You can get a USB if you have multiple devices but I only need it for my iPhone so this is fine for me.

Stil looks stock and don't have to get use to much, 90% of the functions are the same

The only thing it doesn't do is tell me where to go, but my GPS does that, it's mounted in the sunglasses holder up top, hidden away out of sight of thieves.

Long story short, I now have the following features on my stereo:

1 set of 6 AM presets

    2 sets of FM presets

    6 stacker CD player

2 AUX cables (one for front seats and one in rear)

    1 iPhone 4 cable

    1 Bluetooth hands free.

The Bluetooth controls are off to the right of the stereo, just behind the wiper stalk

  3. How did you go?

I'm intrigued, I thought the SX6 had the standard key and remote, and the ZR6 has the smart key.

So if this is the case, the door lock would get used all the time.

It seems very odd that you can't turn the key.

I don't want to make you feel stupid, but are you sure they are the right keys? You don't have any other toyotas or know someone that has switched keys? Or maybe picked them up by mistake?

Just thought I'd mention it as it's happened to me before haha.

I'm interested to know what happens.

  4. Forgive me I do to know all that much about exhaust systems, but I had been told, if you increase the flow to much then it has the opposite effect and you loose power...

...now I don't know if this is true but it's what I've been told.

Now I'm not looking for a massive loud exhaust, I would just like it to be a little bit beefier, a bit more manly.

So... Could you just put the "Varex" type muffler on the end?

From my understanding, you can adjust the flow so as to make it louder or quieter.

If somebody could help explain how to get the best out of your exhaust would be a great help.

    Thanks

  5. Hi there I too have a uniden mounted in my Aurion.

It's mounted above the ash tray and below the clime mate control.

The antenna, in a sticker so to speak that sticks to the wind screen in the top left corner.

I'll try to get some pics for you.

By the way, I like your rims, off the series 2 kluger

I've seen the series 1 rims on an Aurion and I think they would suite mine better, but can't afford it yet.

  6. Hey HDPE

    What model have you got?

Has it got air con or climate control?

What accessories have you got? Anything after market? Anything that's not standard?

I don't know if this will be any help but it's helped me with my electrical work.

If you follow the diagrams relevant to 2GR-FE then you should have a good idea.

Please mote, this is for a camry, I do believe the USA variant, so may be different to the au Aurion.

    I hope this helps

  7. Hi MJQ, not to make you sound stupid or anything, but have you made sure it's not an issue with your phone?

I use to work for Audi a while back and a customer had a similar problem, turns out when he sat in his car, the pressure of his pants tightening around his pockets would push buttons on his phone, which would make the volume go up and down.

Unfortunately I have mot yet had the pleasure of driving the gsv50, and my gsv40 doesn't have the same set up so that's as useful as I can be (without being there)

Hopefully it's something simple and it's under warranty.
