Any car with syncros (i.e pretty much every car these days) shouldn't need any of that double clutching nonsense.

Sweet, cheers.

Any picture of the Duracon mate?

I wouldn't worry either about high K's. My Sportivo has also got 215,000 k's on it and it runs like a dream. Doesn't burn oil / blow smoke, has no leaks, doesn't use coolant and is a good quiet engine. It has full service history though so I know that it got regualr oil changes.

So,
I'm looking to get a DA polisher as I'm sick of hand polishing. I have a certain kit in mind but regarding the type of pads I get will depend on the paint on the Sportivos - can anyone tell me if it's a particularly hard type or soft type?
Cheers

Right, so I'm putting some new shoes (Bridgestone RE002's) on my Sportivo today and getting a full wheel alignment done. It comes with a full digital print out but so I can compare, do any of you guys have the factory wheel alignment specs?
Cheers

Cheers mate.

Nice. Do you guys have any pics of them fitted? Do they expose much the gearstick metal shaft at all?

So my Sportivo gearknob has seen bettter days, flaky etc.
What gearknob are you guys using as an aftermarket item?
-
So, from doing a little research on the UK version of the Sportivo (T-sport) it would seem they have some things that we missed out on. As I have an aftermarket head unit, I noticed that they have a trip computer as part of the head unit, cloth seats in some and traction control.
Anything else different from our version to the UK version that you guys have noticed?
Cheers

i-VTEC > VVTLi
You shouldve got i-vtec stickers...
Sorry, I was under the impression I had a Toyota engine in my car...

I'm thinking of getting a new set of tyres for my corolla. I used KU31's in the past and found them to be pretty good but I've been hearing great things about the Bridgestone RE002 tyre.
Stock rims - the best size would be 205/50/16 I'm guessing?
-
I bought 2 new VVTL-i sticker decals for the sides of my Corolla as the current ones are a bit worn. Have any of your guys removed them before and if so how? Did you use a heat gun / hair dryer to help peel them off? I don't want to pull any paint off by just ripping them off.

So, after a real good service and a new clutch, my Sportivo is driving better than ever. However, with 215,000 on the clock I am wondering if many people on here have changed their water pumps before? I'm not going to change it, just something to keep in the back of my mind I guess.
Also, I know there's a timing chain in the engine, but what about the rubber / aux belts on the car? Is there any recommended k's that they should be replaced before they fail?
Cheers

I changed my clutch anyway yesterday including Nulon 75w-90 box oil and Nulon G70. Box feels much better. Clutch feels much lighter (Exedy HD) but it does feel very "grabby". It might bed in a bit more, but I was hoping for something a little smoother to be honest after all the glowing reviews on the Exedy HD.
Gave her an oil change too, new power steering fluid and a new air filter. Car feels much nicer to drive, picks up quicker and feels smoother.

Fingers crossed that they will have them so. Cheers mate.

Think I messed up a bit. Getting my clutch changed tomorrow guys - have an Exedy clutch HD to go in. Been looking over some older posts and it seems to be the consensus that I need new flywheel bolts as well which I didn't get.
Are they pretty easy to buy from Toyota at short notice or wherever?
Cheers

I might change these on my car when I do the full service on it.
What types do you guys like to use on your sportivos?
-
putting G70 into a box with good synchro's is a bad idea.
Why?
-
Cheers. Maybe they were out of it. Will try another store tomorrow.
I alos bought some Nulon G70 - can I still add this with that gearbox oil?
-
As I'm doing the clutch on my corolla sportivo very soon guys, I went into Supercheap / Repco today and I could only find 75w90 in 1 litre bottles - I'll need 3 of these to do the gearbox. (Takes 2.3 litres I think?)
Anyway they had some there in 4 litre containers which were quite cheap but none in 75w90. Any other recommendations on what I could use? Didn't seem to be anything in 4 / 5 litre size in the 75w90 type.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Yea, my mate has a hoist, cheers for the tips.

Hey guys,
I bought my Corolla Sportivo knowing it needed a clutch change so I bought an Exedy HD clutch for it which was delivered today. On the way home I booted it a bit in 4th and the clutch slipped quite a bit. Time to change it!
1. My mate is doing it - is there any guide on here for doing it? Anything to watch out for?
2. Do you guys normally have to skim the flywheel?
3. Do you guys normally change the main rear seal while everything is out?
4. What would be a typical length of time to replace the clutch roughly?
Thanks in advance guys.

I'm going to do a full service on my Sportivo in the next few weeks. Air filter, oil / air filter plugs etc.
Where do you guys buy your servicing items - Supercheap etc. and buy Ryco stuff or online somewhere?
Cheers
Should I go with ITG rather than K&N?
