Yes i am sure. Toyota just applied a thin film of silver - it should be solid silver plastic. The transmission tunnel heat weakens the film membrane and flakes/scratches easily appear. The problem is very minor now, but in another 2-3 years when i go to trade-in I want to have the car look like new.

The silver paint on parts of my dash Is flaking off. Anyone else had this issue? I am going to make a warranty claim. Why didn't cheap nuts Toyota use solid coloured plastic? Anyone know if the woodgrain trim used on current Camry and Aurion is painted or solid?
