    Prado

Thinking of getting a Prado and trading in my Vienta Grande, need to know if the Prado is a good tow vehicle as i have a small 13ft 800kg Poptop Caravan and is petrol better than diesel for towing also is manual better than auto regarding towing. After having a Vienta Grande it would be hard to come down in luxury, is the Prado Grande a well appointed vehicle and whats the difference between the Prado Grande and the model below i think CSX. I may have also put this meesage in another section by mistake so apologies to forum moderators as have only just found the Prado section. Thanks Tony
  2. Hi Lateralus Car does not seem to be overheating in either temp or transmission. Would overheating transmission cause it do die instantly as if the key was turned off ? Tony
  3. Can any members give me some advice/help/pointers with a problem that i am having. I have a 1998 Toyota Vienta Grande and on the last 2 occasions on holiday and whilst towing our caravan when we are on a country road with a steep incline and when the gears drop themselves down via the auto transmission she cuts out, the steering goes stiff and i have to pull over to allow traffic to pass, at this stage there are no lights on the dash at all, if i turn the ignition to off then to on she starts up straight away as if nothing has happenned and then we proceed with our journey without further fault. This does not happen on motorway inclines it only seems to happen on steep country lane inclines, on the both occassions its happenned we have had the aircon on and the vehicle has been in cruise control, its as if someone unplugs its main power scource. Someone said it could be the cruise control but that does not signify as to why the complete engine just dies, it does not shudder or splutter but simply turns off as if you have used the key to shut the engine down. Another person said that the problem sounds like the ECMU unit shutting down which sounds more feasable. Anyways, if anyone can shed a bit more light on the problem it would be greatly appreciated. Tony
  4. Hi Guys Can anyone please let me know the most reasonable priced place to go in the Brisbane area for either a new or reconditioned power steering pump for a 1998 Vienta Grande 3.0 v6. Also is the Grande,s power steering pump exactly the same as the Camry,s with the 3.0 engine. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks Grande_Tony
  5. Dos anyone have have an easy way or any tips on accessing the rear 3 spark plugs on a 1998 Toyota Vienta Grande as i am in the process of doing a service. Front 3 are a scinch but the rear 3 look to be a pain in the *****, guy at the auto shop said to replace the 3 rear with the Platinums and then just put 3 NGK equivelents in the front and then on the next service all that has to be done is replace the 3 front NGK,s. Any tips hints or miracle solutions would be gratefuly received. Regards To All Tony Grand_Tony

  9. Hi Guys n Gals Just joined so just saying G,Day to everyone. My name is Tony currently living Brisbane but who knows whats around the corner could end up on the moon along with Ray White Reality. Best car that i have had and still own and would recommend to anyone is my 1998 Toyota Vienta Grande 3.0 with full leather etc. I think its an absolute superb luxury car, very quite and smooth although if i hit that lottery would not mind similar in the new Aurion. Anyone know which model of the Aurion has all the luxuries plus of the Vienta Grande. Oh What A Feeling. Cheers Tony
