  1. Sigh..... To my dismay, the fuse replacement didn't seem to get the job done. I still got that blinking OD lights off and check engine lights on... Anyway, I'll try to find an auto electrician just to have to trace the wirings and all. Replacement of the whole VSS quoted to me was ranging from $470 - $480. I wish it is just a wiring problem..... :( :( :(
  2. Hi All, I have "googled" around for some solution, and I stumbled on one article that says I need to replace the fuse located just below the steering wheel. I found the "10" fuse for GAUGE. So I got a "fuse" reserve on the fuse box under the bonnet "10" and replaced the one located below the steering wheel inside the car. The blinking seems to go away and all is fine, for the moment, but I got to monitor this for one week. One question, is there a proper way to put the fuse? (like a + or - sign) Or I can just insert it the way I want.
  3. I need your help, now od off blinking, odometer no display, speedometer notworking, and check engine lights steady on. Been told by mechanic its the speedo transducer. But got info from other source that a fuse replacement might be causing this, as the problem only happens during morning at cold start. I need to now which fuse to replace and what partname(fuse) should i get. Help please
  4. Hi TheKing, Thank you for the response. As for the struts, i'll have it done for the fronts first maybe two - three months. Need saving money
  5. Got checked my car and mechanic replaced inner cv joints. My front tyres got very worn outer side only. Mechnic told me i needed to replace lower inner Control arm bushes. Quoted for $380 for both . Im thinking of just going to wheel alignment. Does the control arm bushing needed to be replaced so the tyre wear would be avoided? Also said that got leak in my struts front. But can wait for a year for replacement. Is the price good for $380? Should i go for vushing replacement? Or just buy new tyres and gamble for the wheel aligent
  6. Hi, went to mechanic yesterday to check the error codes. Upon checking, he said that no error codes are available. He just said that it could be caused by the loose battery terminal which he tightened. But now, when i tried to start the car, the oD lights still blinks and the check engine light is steady. This goes on for around 5 mins of drive. After 5 mins, the flashing is gone
  7. Hi Altezza, Very useful. Thank you so much
  8. Hi all, My coolant bottle has a small hole on the top due to age, it bacame brittle. I found a replacement in ebay and cost around $25. Would it be hard to replace the coolant bottle? Is it something that a newbie can do? Or do i have to bring the car to a mechanic?
  9. I just noticed that the check engine amd od off blinking happens on cold start usually in the morning when i start my car around 6am. Could be an issue of cold start?
  10. Thank you for the reply. I will be able to bring it to automasters on saturday. Til then, would it be okay to drive the car?
  11. Hi All, Just bought my first ever Toyota. It is a Camry CSI 2000 Automatic Sedan with 171,000Km. All is well for one (1) week. After I noticed the problems. FUEL GAUGE - Every time I turned off the engine and put the car to garage, the fuel gauge moves to FULL. Even if the real petrol on the tank is just half - So next day in the morning, the fuel gauges is still FULL. - WHen I start the engine and drive, the fuel gauge gradually moves to the "real" reading which is half tank. OD LIGHTS OFF (blinking) Check Engine lights (ON) - When I started the car and drive for about 1 - 5 minutes, the Check Engine lights went ON and now is not turning off, the O/D off Lights is also blinking. - Now, check engine lights now always ON, the O/D OFF lights only blinks for like, 1 - 5 minutes and would turn off, but the Check Engine lights stays lighted Now I'm really worrying, please advise for my two problems. Thank you very much in advance
