  1. Assuming that it's the same as my 2002 model, then the answer is "yes". There is an extra 12 volt socket located in the luggage area. Thanks. Just got back from my car trip holiday. For those interested there is a 12 volt socket in the back in luggage area just as chrisnstell stated. Cheers.
  2. Guys, I'm hiring a Tarago for my trip up north. Since it's from a car hire I assume the Tarago is a late model 2006-2007. My question is there a second/spare 12V DC socket in the back of the Tarago? Reason why I asked is I need the front for my GPS and would like another one for a portable refrigated unit. Does anyone know? Cheers, Zombie
  3. Interesting to note that considering the VVTI & VVTI-L are quite different. Another question I have is how do I find out if the engine has "run in"? I'm picking up an 2006 ex-demo Corolla Levin which has 14000Ks on the clock, so can I assume it has already run in? Never owned a "new" car before so not sure what driving style I should adopt. Reason I asked this is that I found out that you should be using "run in" oil while is the engine is running in. So how do I know when to start using the proper synthetic engine oil? EDIT: Found out that run-in period is the first 1000k's. So question is when do we chnage over to use synthetic oil if that has not already been done?
  4. Looking at the previous posts, when discussing oils at lot are referring to the Sportivo. However does the same oils also apply to other Corollas like the Ascent, Levins etc which has a different engine?
  5. $25k minus trade-in. Traded my 2000 CD TS Astra sedan.
  6. Thanks mate. Will have a look on the web sites for a panel filter. One more question - how do I find out what engine I have? The web site asks for a engine type when looking for a panel filter? Cheers, Zombie
  7. Ok, forgot to mention it's a hatchback. I thought Levins only come in hatchback, wasn't aware there were sedans which I thought were only limited to the Ascent and Conquest models. With regards to Q3 could you elaborate on what is the stock panel filter - never heard of it? Is this something like an air filter which you can change easily from within the engine bay? What about warranty considering that it's still under manufacturer's warranty - would any modifications void it? Q4 - do you mean ask the local Toyota club? BTW I'm in Perth. Thanks for your comments. Cheers, Zombie
  8. Hello All, Just to introduce myself. I have just recently purchased a ex-demo 2006 Corolla Levin. It's Japanese made (according to VIN) car done in Silver Leaf colour, only done 14ks, and has a factory sunroof. I'm hoping to pick it up next week. Just a couple of questions :- 1) How do I know if it has a facelift? I assume it hasn't since it is a ex-demo which is mostly likely stock. Was thinking some eyelids would be nice. 2) In terms of petrol, use I be using a higher octane petrol or would regular unleaded be sufficient for this model? 3) I'm not really that all interested in mods as this car is mainly for my wife to use on a daily basis, but what recommendations do you suggest (for general improvements not necessarily performance related) I should do to this Levin? I'm quite handy with cars so if it is simple then I don't mind doing it. 4) Any gotchas with this particular model that anyone is aware of? I assume there has been no recalls on this model and no known faults yet. Looking forward in getting my Levin. BTW I tested drove a ex-demo 05 Sportivo and was quite keen to get that one but couldn't get the right price with the dealer, so ended up with the Levin instead. Cheers, Zombie
