  1. went out asking for informations, but aftermarket isnt reconmended, coz will void the warranty? hrm... just hope tat the TRD supercharge isnt TATTT expensive...

If you are worried about warranty then go and buy the TRD Aurion.

If you want to actualy go and use the power anywhere warranty isn't going to cover you for racing.

Modding cars for power and racing isn't cheap or something you can do unless you accept a few risks that the car is being pushed to breaking point perhaps and warranty and insurance is useless if something big happens as it will all come back to the fine print and their lawyers being paid more than yours.

  2. Just wondering, IF there is a speed limiter, is it on 180kmph or more? I did 160kmph on freeway but slowed down coz start feeling worried bout cops... (i know, i m coward T_T)

Well freeway isn't the place to try it out but I can say i haven't found it yet so its over 220 real aor 230 indicted.

You can try it at Wakefield park wakefieldpark.com.au for $100 and see how you go. The Aurion won't get to top speed there but I am sure you will get over 180kmh.

For $45 you can take t for a drag race at ASID http://www.wsid.com.au/ won't get top speed here either.

For $275 you can go to eastern creek thats more fun and fastest track. http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com/

All of these options are cheaper than the fines you will get for trying this on the road!

And a lot safer for all concerned.

  3. hey, i hv been thiking, TRD aurion is coming very soon, then do they sell the supercharge separately, if so, i m VERYY interested into getting one... but i believe the price would be wooott... Any aurion driver wanna try aftermarket turbo or supercharge?

I sure am but not getting anywhere yet with harrop.

Thanks for you TRD supercharger enquiry.

The Aurion kit we build is done specifically for TRD Australia and it would be inappropriate for us to sell it elsewhere.

I suggest you contact TRD and enquire if they will stock it, as there have been some past discussions regarding "aftermarket" kits. I am not able to give any indication of the pricing … however the performance is very impressive.

  4. Well the FWD layout isn't liked much by a lot of car enthusiats as there ia a healthy debate on what it can and can't deliver in handling but one thing I find and few will dispute is that it very stable in a straight line at high speed.

Unfortunately this side of Bathurst there isn't a track with enough of a main straight to really find out how far it will go.

I can say that I have seen 230kmh odd on the speedo (which is typically as optimistic as the fuel gauage is pessimistic just to nanny the non drivers) and that was in manual fourth still as I dont use drive on the track for fairly obvoius reasons.

My guess is the Aurion would not be embarrased by any car on any unlimited motorway anywhere in the world though.

The gearing isn't set up for top speed though. The first four are fine but the jump from fourth to fifth is a bit big. Sure it takes you from 6500redline to 4600 max torque at 225kmh but you need more revs and power at this speed to overcome the aero drag and it could do much better with a 5th designed to run to 260kmh at 6200 rather then the hopeful 297kmh at 6200rpm.

Stock it gets to 220 fast enough and my guess is in fith it will struggle on to about 250kmh. With the right gearing and attention to detailed areodynamic triiming of spoliers and underbody i reckon stock engine would see 260kmh on salt flat.

Not bad at all really anyway.

I am not sure if there is a speed limiter but if there is i haven't found it but i expect it will be set to the standard tyres rating V or 240kmh.

  6. Hello All,

I have a question on the Audio System in Sat nav System thats available on the Aurion as an option or standard in the Presara ( which I have on order ),

The Question is: Will a DVD play in the system?

Simple answer: No - The system has 1 slot for DVD and 1 slot for CD (can hold 4 CD's). The slot for DVD is for the map, it does not have built-in memory. I believe it can play DVD but need a firmware (or hack) - one more thing: its screen is not suitable for movies.

    BH

Yes this is right in my Presara you can load a dvd but nothing happens zip! so no it won't play without a firmware upload of some kind.

it pretty obvoiusly could be made to work but you would be hacking it and i am not so sure it would be a good idea anyway.

  7. OK got the front cup holder fixed at last. Bill buckle just put a new one in and all under warranty no charge.

It's quite useful but not so much as a cupholder really as the two in line front to back not side to side cupholders arent all that useful and the gear lever is in the way for the driver.

Not well thought through i think. A usefull storage bin all the same.

Anyway nice to have it at last after picking up the car 26th May and it being delivered and predelivered with the cupholder jammed shut it is pretty shabby that it took so long to fix.

Never believe the salesman when you check the car on pickup if he says don't worry we will fix that up at the 1,00km check. They won't!

What they will do is let you chase them.

Then want to see the car to order the right bit just to waste some more of your time.

Then order it in then send you NICE little letters giving you a week to pick up the part or they will send it back.

Then tell you you can't pick it up it has to be fitted by them and no they won't give you the old one back its needed for warranty.

Its fixed and but I am not over it am I?

  8. Hello everyone and anyone,

I just order an Aurion Gold ZR6 about 3 weeks ago, they told me it will take about 3 MONTHS! till it comes in. Just wanted to know if anyone else waited this long or is 3 months the maximum amount of time I'll have to wait for it??

Also I saw somewhere on another topic/discussion that you could keep track of where your ordered car was up too, can someone tell me how to do that?

And finally how is everyone else finding their own Aurion at the moment, I have only seen about 2 or 3 on the road??

Well I had a similarly long wait for my Presara but that should have been fixed by now.

  9. thanks for the info guys

have any1 of you asked a carstereo shop if it is possible to integrate the HU to play the iPod and DVD if possible

if that is not possible, I'm ganna probably buy the ZR6 with the standard HU and customize the whole thing (I know I'll lose alot of options that r only available in the presara)

BTW, can any1 buy the ZR6 front and rear end and install it on a presara, (more options, sporty look)

sorry I have lots of questions

Not a bad idea if money isn't a problem but probably cheaper to wait and buy the top lien TRD Aurion the SL3500 or whatever its going to be called. at least it will retain it resale a modded Presara will cost you to do it and again when you trade it will hurt you.

  10. The ZR6 comes standard with the smart entry/start system.

It doesnt come standard with the HID kit, reversing camera, sun/moon roof and blue tooth.

However it does come with front and rear parking sensors as standard, also if you pay extra you are able to add the sat NAV system or Sun/moon roof.

As for the mods im not sure if there is anythin out for the aurion yet.

but i think u will be able to find lowering springs and a exhaust system for it.

^^ wat he said. for the aux ipod plug in there isnt one in zr6. not sure about presara but ım guessıng that doesnt have it either. zr6 and presara plays mp3s so no need for ipod. ı have one too and decıded to not plug it in because i have more than 5000 songs in it and by the time i find a song i want i will arrive at my destination lol.

no ipod for the Presara either

  11. Hi all,

I'm just new here, although just yet I don't have an Aurion, I am considering getting one. My current old Mitsubishi TP Magna (1990) is on it's way out due to engine problems (it was one of the last runs, which was a notoriously problematic batch), and I am just waiting for my P plates to turn into full license in about a month. Main reason I am looking at the Aurion is the fuel economy vs. performance, stock features, and appearance. I am completely sick of 4 cyl engines, as my current car is 4 cylinder and so are all the other cars I have. In my experience, they don't idle all that nicely and tend to be pretty poor on fuel usage... with decent sized engines at least. There is no way I would ever get a car with an engine smaller than 2.0L in a 4 cylinder.

Anyways... with relation to the thread topic, I have been reading of everyone saying how nice it is, but what I am curious about is what it is like compared to other cars in the same segment? Other cars being things like the Honda Accord Euro, the Mitsubishi 380, Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon etc.

I wouldn't be looking at the Presara due to cost, but I am looking at either the SX6 or Prodigy (I want a sunroof and the nicer dash dials lol). Also as a side note, how easy would it be to upgrade the head unit? I read another topic in this forum about Eclipse having surrounds for it to convert the center console to double-din, but I'm curious how well it actually turns out (like does it actually appear similar to the original design?).

Sorry about the long post though... seems this is one of the few decent forums about for Aurion! Most sites don't even mention it.

Well on economy it is the match of all the above except the Euro accord. powerwise its better than them all although the falcon is close. the city economy isn't that great but city with mix of freeway or highway and there would be no 4cyl car of similar size that would come close. well the mazda 6 perhaps is the closest and would be worth a look. I am an old fart so i will say the prodigy is the better looking inside and with the spolier no bad outside. performance is the same but the sx and ZX handling is sharper but ride does suffer. i drove a few cars before getting the presara and i liked the mazda 6, accord euro and the subaru liberty gt. the presara was the more sensible choice for me maybe not the best at any one thing but easy to live with.

  12. I think is's pretty safe to say the front cup holders jamming shut is an established known problem. One to look out for even in predelivery of a new car! Toyota will need to have a look at the problem and fix the design which is not robust enough or prone to jamming.

it will be interesting to see the new part and compare it to the old one and see where the problem stems and if new parts are going to fix it.

can't say it was abused in my case the damn thing never opened from km one.

  13. just got the dealer Bill Buckle to do the 1,000km service and they had a look at the faulty jammed shut front cupholders for me the ones that they didn't find in predelivery but i found with the salesman on pick up of the car.

Well they couldn't fix it and will order the parts in to fix it.

All warranty of course. Toyota will give us the parts and pay Bill Buckle to fit them but not for my time to mess around leaving them the car to fix.

One thing to remember when buying a new car if its not 100% on pick up leave it and walk away.

Tell them to fix it and give you a call when it is and maybe you might still be prepared to take the lemon off their hands for a handsome discount.

After you've paid it's all warranty work and everyone loses.

  14. just got the dealer Bill Buckle to do the 1,000km service and they "fixed" the Toyotalink for me. Well they initialised it like they should have done in the predelivery.

Good news is it works and is quite a nice useful thing.

Searching for the car is fun. you get a little ma

  15. ....

My sugestion is only let your passenger to do this when you are driving.

erm, u can delete this part :spiteful:

LOL... That was exactly as what the video was doing... I tried doing the same thing... Maybe I did it wrongly. Anyway I will try again later today and tell you guys how it is.

The thing is... this safety feature sux. I have another car, Mercedez C200K and it will allow me to do anything when the car is moving, And no sueing from me and anybody else that I know of. LOL

Well I tried. It did not work. Any other suggestions guys???

So did I it doesn't work on my Presara.

  16. search on youtube, search "Toyota Navigation Overide"

That video was actually pretty good, but too bad the navigation that I have is of different make or model. I tried it as what's shown in the clip but it did not work. Any other suggestions guys?

I find this annoying too a few time i have been in a hurry and asked the passenger to key in a destination and it's a total pain evry time you come to a full stop you get a few more letters in and you really do have to stop and do it.

it is a NECESSARY safety feature though as you know you would abuse it and have a bingle and sue them don't you.

At least you can still use the speed dial and last no. dialed on the phone.

disabling it probably not really a good idea

  17. No probs, but you may have a few "old farts" tagging along.

hahaahahahah then we wont invite them okay lol

So how many sportivo aurions????? Jst wondering how many there would be at the cruise. I dont want to see 3 sportıvos and the rest presaras lol. No offence 2 ne 1 :)

Well there would be you in the Sportivo and all us old farts in Presara's discussing how to get the seat set up to minimise discomfort after the little prostate exam and other hot exciting topics for Presara owners.

You think i'm joking don't you!

hahahahaha temper temppeerrr. Man you should relax. Obviously we are joking. We would like to see you old farts in our cruise ofcourse. However what hot exciting topics you have in mind i wonder lol.

Well for one how do we convince harrop to "lose" an engineering sample TRD supercharger so we can pep up the Presara
