  1. And don't go hiding mobile phone headphones in there, they can get caught/jammed the cover...

luckily i got it out and is working again.

I bet something like this has happened with the black plastic cup holders being removed and not put back and the lid jammed shut on them in factory or predelivery.

    Whats the bet???

  2. Toyotalink are pretty good the 1300 number is answered any time so you can get to them from a mobile which is handy. My car doesn't answer so it looks like the Toyotalink module has never been turned on even though it is activated on the system the car module hasn't been turned on. This should have been done in dealer predelivery? I am supposed to take it back to get it fixed.

  3. My new Presara has the Toyota link which sounds great but I have registered it online and called in to activate it but nothing works.

The ToyotaLink unit led is off no light AT ALL? Does anyone else have one and what does the little led do normally? Mine does nothing zip.

Probably a poor pre delivery maybe a faulty unit what do you reckon?

  4. Well I have been to the dealer and seen it its really here. 12 weeks may be a reality for you too if you order a Presara as it looks like they have underestimated the demand for the top end cars.

They might have been burnt on the Avalon or possibly just missed the fact that there are a lot of people who just can't see the value in the Lexus IS250, ES300 etc compared to a top end Aurion ZR6 or Presara.

  5. Hi all,

They state it halves the fuel costs with 0 power loss. Just though I'd put this info accross, it's more of a personal choice like most things. But not for me unless i'd x3 the km's that i am currently doing.

    Adrian

Facts influence more people than opinion.

Thats just NOT true LPG and petrol are not equal in energy terms or power terms in an engine. LPG will produce less power or use more LPG than petrol to equal the power.

Real world the fuel economy is worse and the power produced is worse. carbon grams per k is better and cost well at the moment its way cheaper but after conversion and then excise tax being phased in what bother.

  6. I wouldnt buy a TRD Aurion at any price because its pretty much going to be bodged up with poorly designed add on/replace parts job done in some little workshop. I have my dobuts about this TRD mobs ability to design and control the product quality too. Toyota are taking a large risk letting them do this and keep the Toyota badge on the car.

And for heavens sake Toyota stop trying to copy the Holden/Ford big car performance concept - that market segment is slowly dying now anyhow. Do what your parent company tells you to. :P

    Copy what? RWD? OHV? V8?

TRD a little workshop? All the car companies buy external expertise from "little" workshops all the time. It's just outsourcing a skill you need for one model thats not worth investing in.

  7. Can bus is something you can teach yourself but reprogramming the ecu is going to be hard without lots of software and tools that Toyota just aren't going to release. I have learnt a bit of can bus to help with an industrial ethernet wan comms project and for getting data from sensors and setting states on relays and so forth all easy enough to do. Now taking that to a car with existing non UNIX, MAC, WIN ECU controller I don't know.

Honestly going to be too hard just buy the Presara probably cheaper and quicker. But for a project to keep you occupied in your shed for a year or two why not.

  8. I doubt its worthwhile its all about fuel excise avoidance which can change at the stroke of a pen. engine wise direct injection petrol engines would be more efficient and i doubt on a modern hi tech engine like the 2GR-FE that LPG would really be much of a benefit it would more likely be less efficient and tex excluded would cost about the same to run.

  9. The TRD Aurion being Auto only and FWD is a very different car from all the other local offerings.

I don't think they can be compared that easily.

I would get a TRD but then I am not a V8 RWD fan.

TRD will more likely line up the Liberty GT as this would be the closest rival.

The V8 SS FPV fans are not going to go FWD but honestly there isn't any disadvantage in street driving on either platfrom in australia. Ultimately no one woould argue the AWD is better.

  10. Apparently the ZR6's and Presara's are in big demand. One of the hire car companies ordered alot of the Presara's and apparently thats why there a long wait.

Have been quoted a 3 month delivery on Presara, and a guy who bought a couple of weeks later a 5 month delivery (Mar to Aug )! Between the hire cars and the Middle East export markets (especially with the moonroof option) the private domestic market seems to be having a rough shake. Does anyone REALLY know why the Presara/ZR6 output is taking such a long delivery time ?

It seems to me that high priority is given to leased cars. Mine is a leased car ordered in mid-Jan and delivered in four weeks time. My colleague ordered his in Feb and the build is scheduled for May.

interesting i am waiting for a May build Presara too. I am not so sure i want to if there is a big hire company order causing the delay. if so I will screw them down harder F@$^ the deposit double the discount or put it into stock

  11. ^

Yeah, Liberty is a nice car but when you weigh up all things the TRD Aurion on PAPER looks the better deal.... more power, better transmission, sportier look, maybe sportier feel with its suspension work, some luxury interior wise, all of the features you need etc.

Well I put my money down on a Presara after test driving a Liberty GT, Maxima, Commodore SV6 and Falcon XR6.

The best drivers car was the liberty GT manual in my book but for me all considered the presara was better overall but of course there are some compromises here to suit wife and family demands.

  12. for $50-60K I'd prefer a Liberty GT

Now I do like the liberty GT and its a great car but having test driven them The Liberty GT is for you if you want a manual and can really use the full capabilities of the AWD superior handling.

I wanted an auto and if you drive an auto Liberty GT you may be disappointed as the standard Aurion compares well up to 8/10ths driving ie fast street not strip.

Base facts on performance for stock Aurion and Liberty GT are very close

Liberty GT is 184kw and 339Nm in a 1545 kg car with a 5 spd auto

    Aurion has 200kw and 336Nm in a 1630Kg car with a 6 spd auto.

Now if we were to look at the TRD supercharged version well! Of course the Liberty GT is $59k on the road all up so pricing will be important.

  13. call me an old fart but i love all the woodgrain!

Just ordered a new Presara in Titan Silver with the Stone light grey interior. The black interior was too much for me well on a light coloured car i thought the stone trim was better anyway.

Have to wait a while for it though as the Presara is in May build long time out on a wait list for one at the moment
