  1. Haha I do like the bronze but I'm a white man now! Definitely $80 is a fair price for the repairs though.

Your tyre fitter probably organised them without saying anything but here's some info from a previous thread

    but Hub rings ...

they are polycarbonate rings they do not corrode, cause rattling, or show signs of wear like metal! polycarbon is extremely durable and forms a tighter seal between the hub and the wheel. these will not melt, crack, or break over time under normal use. suitable for street and track use.

Hub rings are designed primarily for aftermarket wheels which tend to have an oversized centre hole, to cater for all spigot designs. The vertical loads of the wheel are supposed to be transmitted through the spigot, and the hub ring ensures that the wheel sits on the hub as opposed to transmitting the loads through the wheel studs (which are there purely to transmit torque)

OH.....Where can we buy the hub rings? and size?

I got mine from USA 54.1mm to 76mm for my rims $35.00 for all 4 .. some people say they got theres for free but you will just call around tyre places ... or call the company of your rim ..eg ANZ ...simmons ...etc

  2. I know its a few months old . but any of these double DIN DVD units have trouble with the motorised screen ? Alpine ?Clarion ? Hitting the Vent surround on the corolla ?

    NO. why would they?

Because my clarion headunit had a motorised face and it lowers just enough to hit the vent surround

Didn't happen with my old Eonon Double-Din Motorized headunit. It flipped down with about 2-3mm clearance :)

    Sweet ...

  3. Saw a silver rolla same one twice in brunswick ... assumed Stivo . no badges, full body kit ...

REALLY wicked exhaust - i want to know what system he had ..

Sports grille / eyelids . 17's ...racing seats . perosnalised plates IAGROI

If it was stivo that explains nice exhaust sound ... don't think he is a member here...

but would love to know exhaust muffler setup as it wasn't too loud nice sound when he opened it up

  4. I know its a few months old . but any of these double DIN DVD units have trouble with the motorised screen ? Alpine ?Clarion ? Hitting the Vent surround on the corolla ?

  5. Okie so you didn't get it installed by a professional ? great move . warranty is void straight away ....

and if the warranty has expired also your fault ...

"try to get an Alpine head unit fixed after 2 years when a fuse pops and cooks it ... even installed by Alpine dealer still not covered." ... least they offered you something seeing they didn't have to offer anything

Well i spose its your view about their products ... but i can see why they wouldn't refund .... even if you got a cd from Autobarn - I have seen a pioneer unit $2200 where the warranty was void because the hand brake wire wasn't installed by a customer.. that would SUCK

It sounds like to me it was all wired up WRONG because i never seen the cheapest units of any brand SMOKE like you say

  6. This is what Toyota say is the ideal alignment for daily driving, http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=11228

I didn't know we had that much toe and camber adjustment at the back and both the camber and toe don't meet the left-right error tolerances.

On the front, is that the maximum camber they can put into it with the stock bolts? As 0*05' seems low, it is still within tolerance but you want it get it to at about 0*31'. And if you need camber bolts to do that then I guess you need camber bolts.

After i took it back they said no more adjustments could be made . now car tracks straight , then they blame it on rims ...

the TT$actory has an excuse for everything.. just like "crapBrakes Plus"

  7. Is the front bar here in Australia ? it would have to be worth it because the body is almost the same but the headlights are almost the same as our 2007 rolla so it would need some custom fitting around the lights.

www.carmate.com have heaps of kits . one kit looks like USA kit - based in sydney

  8. SB advertised some a while back

can just make out the sheet they gave me

front axle camber - +0x05' (left) -0x25' (right)

    Rear axle camber - -0x17' (lef)t - -2x09' (right)

    Toe LF -0,1mm RF +0,8mm

    RL +3,7mm RR +5,1mm

thats what the sheet says ....

I went in for a wheel balance because slight pull to left after a learner hit the curb and came out like that with a more severe pull to left then they fobbed it off to it needs camber bolts

    ohh and yes 17x7 rims

  9. Yes these units are great i have 2 of them ... indash 7inch TV(single din) 1x DVD player plus rearveiw mirror on the way and 1 x indash gauges ....and 1 x rearview camera already installed

Trying to work out how the double Din units fit ... I can get good prices on there stuff

Was going to get double DIn touchscreen but the motorised screen may be a problem.

I would like to see what double Din DVD units people have installed

  10. I thought the ratio for 6th was similar to the 5th of the C56

Th 1zze on an auto gearbox has a bit of torque .. maybe drop a 2zz onto the auto box ...mmmmm

I had the offer to get a smashed 2004 lexus is200 . but passed it in thought i would't make use of it ... 2litre in the corolla ?

  11. I have the stick-on Antenna with Booster (on the windows, front & back) and the TV reception is was ok (depends which area you are in, most of the time SBS gets the highest quality), had the TV 2 years ago...So not sure how if the governments have boosted the TV reception.

They goverment shouldn't turn off analogue for few more years . its been extended from 2008 to 2011 because of poor digital sales

  12. yea mish i know what you mean with the hidden antenna. its got a booster so the it can make the signal stronger.

i dont think of it so much as a rice thing. if you are only watching movies or deal or no deal while you are driving then yea its rice, but i was thinking of being able to watch the news updates on channel 10 news in the car if im stuck in traffic. not so much rice, more like another way 2 see if im going to be stuck.

so tv is no good while you drive? youd have to park it to watch it?

Northern subrbs of melb. mine is clear stuck on glass on rear window with 5db powered boost and other one i had was 3 way diversity . looked like mobile phone antenna from inside ... Glass is better

I get almost perfect Channel 7 ..SBS .. okie channel 10 and sometimes not bad 9 .. when driving and stationary with the glass one ..not digital .. i had digital and stationary if you found the right spot .. perfect .. driving FORGET it

Great for waiting in between lessons

Curse the government for digital only ... poor digital = no picture

It also depends on the quality of the TV tuner aswell

  13. Screens could be helpful for your business DrivInGScHool because you could show the kids instructional videos right there in the car, or play them a demonstration of understeer in the wet, or say "this is what happens when you speed" and show them a gory commercial...

And you could charge more

i like the idea of that one :)

I got one indash sceen already . i use it to show the Vicroads Hazard practice test SVCD... might find some other driving vid's Great suggestion

I reckon i am the only driving school with on the road AV for my students

  14. 'the only legal way of lcd sunvisors in australia'

    ????

What restrictions on sunvisors .... i have never found this in ANY Road laws book ?

All it says is the screen/display must not be visable to the driver while the car is in motion (Exculding GPS Devices/reverse camera's)

Cool to be creative ... i got a spare screen siting here cause i can't work out where to mount it .. I was thinking fold out in glove box ...

Cutting console away and fitting there would be cool . hide away dvd player somewhere aswel.

In my old commodore it had clock and speedo in the dash cluster and i disabled the clock and put a 4inch LCD next to the speedo then re-fitted the dash cluster...unfortunatly unrelated the speedo stopped working 2 months after that ... Damn holdens

can't find the original pic but this is what it looked like
