  1. It appears to just be a spare socket with no continuity. I managed to trace the socket (four wires tapped together) up till the grommet at the top of the Tarago back door but never went beyond that - couldnt be bothered checking. Your experiment works because Eclipse is compatiable with the Fujitsu 10 Head Unit, there is no link between the wire that plugs into the Head Unit at the front and the spare socket at the back, if you manage to link it up, it will work. I had always assumed the spare socket in the boot was a prewired thing, but it isnt and also would have made life easier for Toyota for any retro fit cameras. I actually went to Toyota and asked for a retro fit but they refused as they deem Eclipse as 3rd party and they do not do 3rd party installs. They provided me with a guy who they sub contract this stuff - he wanted $250 for labour and required the whole car to be removed interior wise, I never went ahead with it. You also have an additional issue - the reverse signal tap. Good Luck with it all, I've pretty much given up! In Melbourne - too risky for that, you dont want to be mucking around and deflating any airbags by accident! Costly and dangerous!
  2. Hi All, I have been trying to install an OEM Toyota Reverse Camera (Eclipse Brand) onto a Tarago 2011 GLX. After prying open the back of the boot, I found a plug which looks like a prewiring for an OEM or Genuine Toyota Reverse Camera... https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/t31.0-8/10982636_10204655112445902_751522224781955118_o.jpg The Eclipse OEM camera clips RIGHT into this so therefore I concluded it was the right plug. This is about as far as I got success wise.....tried to test it out by putting car into reverse, no pic. So off to the head unit I went!! Removed plastic trims and found this 20 pin at the back. The car has a 4 inch TFT thing PZQ060-00051 radio...This is common with a lot of Camrys/Hiluxes/Prados. https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/t31.0-8/p720x720/10359097_10204655114285948_6435982659964207860_o.jpg I can work out that in the above pic – the Blue/Light Green/Green wires are for the steering controls. The rest like White, White/Black Stripe/Orange/Red/Black should be for Cam +/-, Cam Power +/- and Reverse Trigger Wire but dont know which is which. The boot's wiring in pic 1 consists of Black, White, Grey, Yellow so they dont quite match up...I suspected the White/Black Stripe was the reverse trigger but it isnt. Used a multimeter and tested all the wires in pic 2, none seemed to be on any voltage at all in reverse or park!! I have a theory that this car is pre-wired if not why would Toyota bother to put a camera adapter plug at the back in the boot door? Secondly those wires in pic 2 MUST BE for something, else why is it there??? What to do next? I have also TESTED this on a friend's Camry 2012 with the same Head Unit but his has a reverse camera factory fitted...and it works, so I've cancelled out any chances the camera itself isn't working. Comparing his, I noticed my Tarago's 20 pinouts are a different position wise. This is his factory fitted camera 20 pin pinout: https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t31.0-8/10271409_10204655310290848_472290748587067006_o.jpg The ONLY other thing I can think of is that a fuse is missing?? Please help with any ideas. Thanks heaps in advance!!
  3. Hi, Can anyone point me into the right direction? Trying to install a Eclipse BEC 113 OEM Reverse Camera. It appears that 2011+ beyond Taragos fitted with the PZQ60-00051 entertainment system (no navigation) had pre wired the reverse camera but not the reverse wire trigger. I found the plug for the reverse wire camera at the back no issues but cant seem to locate the reverse trigger wire? After searching on the web, I can only sort of guess that it is near the passengers side's footwell. After opening up the footwell all I see is a maze of wires, some on the Prado and Camry have said it is the Red Wire or Red/Black striped wire. None of these are evident on the Tarago... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
