A previous owner from these forums, snapped a driveshaft in his '05 stivo (i wont name names). Toyota gave him a hard time, but once they investigated, they apologised as it was a defect in the drive shaft itself. Sportivo driveshaft, cvs, and cv boots as i understand are prettty crap anyway. A set of aftermarket billet ones will fix this problem right up.
-
Oh yeah, it did say you ordered them. I putting in Recaro SR seats, how much were the bride rails?
-
Hey I'm looking to get a set of genuine recaro seat rails atm. Let me know if you want in cuz it may be cheaper to get 2 sets in. I've just sent email to a contact in Japan, so pricing it up atm.

19's look perfect on the rollas, but that is it. I think you will wanna be drop down to 18's after a week of driving around.
-
Hmm is there anyway of disconnecting it form the gearbox, i would stil like to maintain the lights on and key in buzzer
-
Just paid now leat me know when it goes through, will be happy to take delivery for Melb orders.

bit off topic here
i have 215/45/17 Dunlop SportMaxx, 17"x7" +42 offset, TRD Sportivo suspension and scrub badly in extreme cornering (ie on track)
normal street driving is ok even with full load of passengers.
whats your impression of the smport maxxx tyres?
-
you wont get scrubbing with 18s on super lows if you get the right tyres.

Ah k thats good to hear. My speedo is spot on now, at 100km/h, i'm doing 100 km/h (used those speedo alerts between melb and geelong) and at 50km/h im doing 50 km/h in the local streets. I was reading through BlAcK JeT picture comments (225/40/18)and he said his speedo is not out all, so prob tyre profile doesnt make too much of a speed difference.
Any more peeps, with coilovers and 40 profile 18's, please let me know if u have any probs.
-
I already have 225/35/18 with no prob its the 40 profile that i am concerned about.
-
Starting to research tyres now, I'm thinking about jumping up a 40 profile tyre to improve comfort with my upcoming cuscos. I'm thinking Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 225/40/18. Has anyone had experiances with a 40 profile 18 inch wheel in the rolla (i.e. rubbing, comfort, looks, speedo out etc.)
-
I'm sure it works as well as rogain.

king springs are exactly the same as pedders, just yellow. Whitelines are prob a bit better, but kings are still very good and good value for money.
-
Not sure about sportivos, but they are usaully pretty big and usally requires a larger socket set ratchet (i.e. 3/4 inch drive)
-
check you exauhast mounts, they can make a simular type of sound to what you desribed.
-
It adds bugger all weight to the car, prob like 1kg a door. I added stinger road kill. Sounds alot better, but then went u get rid of the noise in the door, u notice it coming from other parts like the power window swithces etc.
-
Too bad you cant utilise the factory itake manifold, it would look much tougher.
-
2zzges arent exactly quite, could just be the vvti, it generally make a low ticking like sound at idle.
I think its the vsv you hear ticking away at idle. I'd be concerned if the vvti made ticking noises :D
I dunno, thats what toyota told me. But they all sound like dat.

hmm, how do parking sensors work with the anoying spotivo reverse buzzer?
its not annoying but what I can tell you it's more annoying when you hit something :P hehehe...
Get the kit with LCD Screen it's so much better than having the beep noise. :)
Nah what i mean is that when the corolla sportivo is in reverse it buzzes anyway so if add the reverse sensosrs you will get 2 sets of buzzing.

there u go; however, the link is broken for th 9th gen forums, so just do a search there.

Assuming you took your battery out when you installed you CAI and had it out for more than 30min, id say u would have aleady reset your ecu. Im not sure if really need to disconnect the batery twice, but i suppose it cant hurt.

Usually the cheap ones are crap, phillips are generally produce a decent enough light. But yeah the whiter you go the less you see.
