Yup that is true. If your staying N/A, injectors should be the last thing on your mind.

But I know where to take my car if I want to turbo it ;)
Where?
-
LOL is this what you get up to in your spare time Bill
Haha thats some good schitt
-
VVTL-i Lift = All of the lag, none of the turbo.
If you want to spend money on a sportivo, your better of buying a Type R.
-
If you put NOS in your rolla, my opinion would be its going to suck.
1. Get a cold air intake
2. Get a bigger exhaust
3. Make sure your clutch is in good condition or dont even bother.
4. Make sure theres some good oil in your motor.
5. Get an ECU to make sure everything is running properly and to control fuel injection.
These are the things i would consider before putting a nos setup.
goodluck

Ive tried the TRD shifter on 2 different stivo's.... I must say it definately does make shifting alot more quicker and precise, but the one thing i hate is how much more harder it makes daily driving although you do get used to it. From my perspective, if you love your streetracing, shortshifting is ideal lol.

lol Bill im gona have to disagree with ya mate about that 14.3 time.
I am pretty certain that a n/a stivo with JUST intake, exhaust + coilovers is going to pull that time!! Come on mate what are the other supporting mods??
possibly lightweight flywheel, heavy duty clutch, stripped interior, aftermarket ecu, short shifter??? it didnt have any of these????
what mph and 60ft time did this thing get???
sorry to be a pain in the *****
EDIT: sorry mate, i just checked the timeslip now on the other section.... it says the driver got a 2.1 60ft time, he definately used some sort of slicks to achieve that time without an LSD, unless he had one?
he also got 99.2mph.... which is pretty freaky for a stivo with only intake/exhaust/coilovers and also all the other stivo's are getting an average of around 94 with similar/same mods.
Whats the G-O? sorry i dont mean to be a smart****, i just dont believe the mods you listed are the actual ones in the vehicle.

What to look for in a sportivo....
First thing to look at would have to be the gearbox. Take it for a test drive, try and change gears while in lift, if it goes in smooth, your all good, if it crunches, then it either needs a clutch replacement or the synchro's on the gear are farked.
Check the engine bay, make sure its neat as the sportivo's tend to keep a tidy engine bay. Also check the CV's on both sides and make sure the CV boot isnt split or ripped, make sure theres no grease around that area either.
The middle dash has a lil pocket where you pull back to put things into, make sure that isnt broken or loose or youll end up replacing it later down the track.
If the driver is young, the thing has been thrashed because this whole VVTLi thing is a big influence to speed and go into lift every gear. If it has any mods, it has also been thrashed. Especially if it has a cold air intake. Also check the interior to make sure everything is cool and tidy.
Thats pretty much it from what i know. Goodluck in making your purchase.

3 - no difference. you will get same performance with all spark plugs.
4 - my opinion would be 5W30 in winter, 10W30 in summer.

Was there any 2ZZ's made(factory) in low-comp form that was more suitable for a turbo setup? Im curious as to how they would produce such a motor....
-
i think the 3sgte will win every time somethin bout cast iron its heavy yes but its also very good at holdin every thin together n unlike the 2zz that u have to resleve the bores in addition to the pistons n rods the 3s cylinder linings r rock sold as they r and if i could have been bothered to put a 3s in my rolla i would have as the is no substitute for cubes but my 1.6 4ag with 252hp atw will do me
Id prefer the 3S-GTE aswell, ONLY because the 2ZZ-GE was initialy made for N/A use.
Not that im saying they are crap motors when you put a turbo on them, but they would need rebuilding from ground up like Bill has done. Respect for the man!
-
lol close enough fella's. Atleast i dont do no fancy calculations, only in ma head!
muahaha
PAPS - get that motor in there ASAP. boost it up to 250kwatw.
Lets see the 2zzgte - 3sgte comparison. 1/4 results/ circuit results etc.
in my dreams i will see all of this.
-
lol omg omg its ur bday!! go and loose ur virginity now to a whole soccer team
-
a stock gen2 3sgte usually puts down 140-150kw atw. That's only about 100kw less than Bill
thats boring power. id rather have more fun with a lightly modified 2zz-ge.
if ur going 3sgte, boost that bich up.
id love to see a 3sgte in a corolla pushing 220kw+ atw.
btw, my previous post was wrong about bills car having 250hp, its actually 250 kws which is equivalent to about 325 hp off the top of my head.
-
If Bill(xoom) cant get 250 horsies to stick to the floor on a 2ZZGTE, how are you planning on getting traction from a 3SGTE?
-
What was his number plate? Ill clean him up for the right price
-
mrs.sportivo, you are the saddest person on this forum to upload such a tight-a$$ thread.
kthnxbai

lol, theres only one solution. put in a new clutch.
ull be shifting gears an landing it at 6,400rpm if your strong enough
-
nice shots man! lovin it. for easy tan, drive wif ur arm out the window! ive got some madass drivers arm atm!
Hahaha I do that all the time.
-

Why don't you take some photos of the ocean or something, it would be a good change for you!

Sure does make a difference. If i had a replica shifter in my car, i think i would litteraly split the thing in half from shifting hard.
Its the material there actualy made out of.
