Presara

Can anyone help me? I've just discovered my Presara has a flat battery (after my having left the map light on for a few days between using the car) and so I chose to disconnect the battery in order to charge it off another car before reconnecting it; which I did in order to elliminate the risk of a voltage surge frying the computer etc. Now I have a car that beeps 5x short discrete beeps from the left hand rear speaker every time I start or stop the engine. Has anyone else had this happen to them and if so what is the car trying to tell me? I cannot find anything in the owners manual about this... Cheers

I'd love to come to a Sydney meet, but unfortunately the long weekend doesn't fit in with plans to take the wife to QLD for a extra long wekend holiday. If you've enough people wanting to hook up the following weekend I'll be there for sure. It would be good to meet some of you guy's and gal's. What's the norm after we meet at Villawood anyway? I've yet to try them all, but I've found the car runs exceptionally well on the Ethanol blend; no pinging nothing. As for litres to the 100km I don't get too finicky about it really, after all if your worried about a few dollars a tank can you ever really afford to give it alittle and have some fun? For what its worth I rented a Presara when I was in QLD last week and for 3 days I worked that car like no tomorrows. Craking 200km on the straights of the Bruce Highway a few times even. Obviously this was my chance to see what the car is truly capable of without having to giving mine a hard time... Now I don't know what fuel was in the tank to begin with, but its a safe bet given it's a renta car that it wasn't one of the premium blends out there and despite me giving it assholes for 3x days travelling almost 400km the car averaged 13L/100km. Now that's cheap motoring; if i did that in my old 2003 6 cylinder Holden Calias it would be atleast 16L/100km. Hope this helps. By the way, have any of you discovered that with the wheels turned from stationary, when you plant your foot the traction control is really slow to take effect. I did this on the renta and I had to back off else I was likely to create too much attention from the squeal of spinning wheels that seemingly never stoped.

$800.00 is great $$$ considering what you get. Can you help people by directing them as to where they can buy them for that kind of money? I stumbled upon them in ebay for $1,400.00 and your talking almost half that, yet when i try to find any other supplier on the net I'm unable to find another supplier, let alone one cheaper. Can you help other Aurion/Camry owners out?

You said it KMG - it's a big loop hole in the system and people are at risk of buying this car repaired and sold under false pretenses as a 2nd hand motor vehicle. Did anyone happen to view the car on the web to see if it sold and for how much? Unfortunately I'm interstate on business at present and therefore I was unable to easily access the next, so I've missed the auction on line.

It's not flaged as a "Sat. Write Off" on the Pickles site (which they are obliged to declare as this means the vehicle can never be registered on Australian or New Zealand roads NO MATTER WHAT and therefore only good for spare parts. Given that it's only got 7km I'll bet it's never been registered either, so the RTA won't know the car exists as such. This can make for a real bonus for buyers of cars that are written off in circumstances like this as the vehicle technically doesn't exist on the national register and therfore can not be Registered on the sysytem as a Written Off Vehicle (WOVR) as a Repairable Write Off. Meaning that once the vehicle is repaired; provided the repair job is 1st class of course, you can register it and sell it when the time comes to get rid of it and nobody need know that you bought it damged in the first place. Where as if the vehicle is listed on the WOVR it can be registered yes, but it will be flaged for life every time you or a potential buyer does a REV's check. It will come up with a disclaimer that the vehicle is a Repairable Write Off and that any new car warranty that may have been applicable to the vehicle may now be Void. It also suggests that you check with the manufacturer before purchasing the vehicle. Of course if you're a dodgy mofo you buy it, fix it and try and pass it off as a good clean car. However if you just want a good clean car which you know the caliber of the repair you could buy yourself a cheap car, fix it, dive it for several years and then sell it for what it is. You'll be selling it for less, but then you should have paid alot less for it in the first place. I guess only only real trick is to be sure as to what its likely to cost you to repair it before you buy it...

Thanks - My Camry (Vienta Grande 1999 - still own) has 10,000k intervals, my Honda CR-V has 15,000k intervals and my BMW318i has 25,000k intervals. I thought with new "technology" could be around 10,000k - but actually not. I don't know why the mechanics put a sticker for the end of Feb-2008 - 6 months down the track. BH How many cars do you have! Guy's I don't suppose the reson for the lube services being only $150.00 is because there's twice as many needed compared to most Jap cars? (i.e. it's all swings and round abouts; you save on the service costs but you need service twice as much!)

Damm.. Wonder what happened to it.. Thinking i might put a bid on. I suspect the delivery truck got a little careless when he was lowering the top deck to get another car off? What do you think it will fetch? My guess is $20-22k

I happened to be looking for a car on the net with a mate of mine when I though I'd quickly search for Aurion's on Pickles web site (just for the hell of it) when I stumbled accross a really cheap one. It's a real crying shame in fact to see a car so new in such a state. OK after a grueling 2 months wait yesturday I picked up my Gold Aurion ZR6 with tints, mats and bluetooth and all I can say is I'm loving it, loving it, loving it!!!. I have taken a couple of friends from work for a drive in it and Toyota can expect another two customers. Also took a friend who owns a new Volvo, sorry don't know what model, but will also be trading that in for the Aurion. It is better than I expected and I expected alot. Thank you Toyota! That's geat news "Canooch" I'm glad you love it. Mind you i'd be very suprised to learn of anyone who didn't fall in love with a new Aurion no matter what the model. What say all us Sydney Aurion owners hook up some time and go for a Sunday drive someplace where our wives/partners won't think its all about the cars? (which it will be of course)

Hey SEXC_ROLLA how's that TRD Aurion? I saw one in the showroom at Castle Hill Toyota (i just had to stop in to see one in the flesh), it's stacked with goodies and looks a treat. I trust it drives like nothing you've ever experienced before? The interior is something that really impressed me, especially the seats. My Presara put's me off a tad with all the wood grain, especially on the centre console - but really thats the only complaint i have about the car. I'm glad to see that Toyota didn't get too carried away with carbon fibre inserts etc. in the TRD. The grill is something different, yet really impressive! I noticed the rear spoiler on the TRD is also a much improved version to that which is standard on the Sportivo. Having eliminated all the black plastic from the underside of the spoiler; with a very attractive LED Stop Light in it's place. I like it that much I'm going to enquire about one for the Presara, lucky for me I'm fortunate enough to have a very good mate in Toyota whom I'll be approaching this weekend to price one up for me at cost, hopefully it still doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
