  1. I'm going to get the non acid wheel cleaner anyway I reckon as they claim it can be used as part of a waterless wash system which is something I do fairly regularly atm. I wont be wasting the Hot Rims though I'll save that for the times I bring out the wash mitt and suds. That Endurance Wet Gloss sounds good thanks for the tip.
  2. Thanks for the replys guys. If I understand you correctly I need to buy the "non acid wheel cleaner" and use that first. Does that mean the Hot Rims Wheel cleaner isn't suitable? (For the tyres) I actually wanted the non acid version but was met with a blank stare at the shop when I asked for it so went the Hot Rims one instead
  3. Also while I remember. I rang Malaga Springs and Suspension yesterday and spoke to the guy there. He said that after lowering 1 Tarago and having it handle like a complete dog he would never do another one. So maybe lowering isn't such a good idea Your thoughts??
  4. Unfortunately mate it has to be practical as it's primary use is as a work vehicle. So while I want it too look hot and have some fruit at the end of the day if I'm replacing tyres too often then it wont be justifiable. I'm looking at doing in the region of 70,000 to 100,000 km's per year.
  5. I've read that it's a good idea to clean your tyres before you apply protectant such as the Meguiars tyre shine I use. How would you go about doing it? Should I just use the same was water as for the rest of the vehicle (after I've washed the van not before obviously) or would you recommend something else? thanks Oh I use the Meguiars Hot Rims cleaner for the wheels themselves.

    fuel mileage

Last time I checked I got 9.5kms/ltr and around 500-550km to a tank but that's a 2005 Petrol Tarago so not really comparable to yours I guess.
  7. I've got a question. Why did they stop making them?
  8. I've just bought a 2005 Tarago with 94,000km's on it and I'm very happy with it. Don't worry too much about mechanical dramas with it. A lady I know who drives full time nights cabbing just traded her tarago with 900,000km's on it. Always run on petrol (never got it converted to lpg) She traded it for another tarago as the Toyota service guys told her it was going to start costing her money! I'm running mine on BP Ultimate Unleaded since buying it and it runs like a dream, I get good power out of it and reasonable mileage. hth Nathaniel
  9. Sounds good dude. Not sure right now if I can make it but I've got the details and will make it if I can.
  10. SuperDave: Thanks for the links!! Tayles: Your right I should have writen that better. Basically what I was asking is if for example I have 2 Goodyear Eagle tyres in the same width/speed rating etc the only difference being ones a 16in the other a 19in with the corresponding difference in profile. Would you expect to get less durability or mileage from the lower profile tyre in back to back usage on the same vehicle.
  11. If Hi-Aces can come then I reckon my much better looking Tarago could head on down too, yeah? Sorry for the dumb question but I'm a very green n00b what actually happens on these cruises? Thanks
  12. Has anyone lowered a Tarago van? I've got a 2005 Tarago and would like to find out if it's possible, I'm sure it is. What it would cost? How low would be practical? Also I was thinking of switching to 19in rims. I heard from a mate that low profile tyres are less durable than standard profiles is that true? Thanks in advance Nathaniel
