Toyota tarago GLI 2000 2.4l
Had this Toyota for 5/7 yrs. No issues ever except having to change the coils twice.
I have also done the water pump and the transmission oil.
A few weeks ago, car running not too good. Change oil and sparks and good again although mechanic advice rocker cover must be replace due to loose screws
Went on holidays car stopped for 3 weeks. ....when back car running terrible. Like on 3 cyl.
Mechanic change rocker cover, all coils and spark plugs (again)
Car running excellent.... However no I have engine light coming up after 3 minute drive.
Took it back, reset it same issue
Change interna solenoid , same
An supposed expert sensor guy had a look and concluded
P1346 VVT SENSOR - CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE
unable to fault VVT SYSTEM
POSSIBLE internal solenoid actuator ( which I understand we changed already)
Or
Actuator gear issue
is that fixable? Somebody told be I have to open the engine and look inside ($$$$$)....
I find a great coincidence that this light came open only after the rocker cover has been replaced... I never ever in 7 year saw that light on.
Could the mechanic damaged, touched unintentionally sth to trigger this issue?
Could I be lucky an it is an easy fix?
