  1. Did Toyota every make a 2 DIN unit for the ZZE12X cars with a GPS?

They did and still do. Last time I checked, someone was quoted 3.5k for one. Rediculous.

I've installed a genuine one before on a ZZE123 (Corolla Sportivo). It's just plug and play.

    *gasp*

did this still have the 6 disc stacker? DVD compatible? 5.1 dolby? (Subwoofer out)

It was single I think, no DVD (a hack is required), not 5.1, no pre-outs. Sucks aye.

The newer ones have 4 disc in-dash I think with MP3/WMA support. I would bet my money that it still wouldn't have pre-outs.

I've installed a genuine one before on a ZZE123 (Corolla Sportivo). It's just plug and play and finding a suitable location for the DVD/GPS unit. I'm not sure if the newer Genuine Toyota Headunits still have a standalone unit that connects to the headunit.

  3. 3.8k to hire, thats actually not too bad

i would imagine a big 21st would cost heaps more :P

i cant justify the expense at all... 21 laps is all you get... not to mention all the damage to the car, wear to tires... all for the sake of some bragging rights. We drive Corolla's. FFS!

    Just a Corolla eh? :P

7th, 8th and 13th? Thats hardly amazing... Look i am not Bagging the Sportivo... i own one FFS... all i am saying is that i think if you really want to go and spend some time at the track go for it. But i cant justify it. I would rather go somewhere and Be social.

All you guys with coilovers and slotted Rotors, strut bars and sway bars.. would definately have a blast on the track.. you sure have set your cars up like you belong there you may aswell get there .... once!

It's not the result that matters here, it's the time the car does. Mind you, the Corolla that did 1:52 was stock as a rock. Compare those times to other cars that cost 2-4 times as much. Still not impressive for a Corolla?

Having said that though, I'm totally against the idea of a track day at this point in time for the reasons you guys have stated. If people are interested in Track days, EXE car club as Steve has pointed out organise a few a year. Track days for Corollas only have failed in the past due to disinterest from the majority.

  4. good stuff bill! hahah believe it or not ive coped a few racial comments to... ive been called a WOG!! AHAHAHAH (for anyone who doesn't know.. im viet) it all happened at work when we caught a customer stealing from the shop. the guy called me a dumb wog this... wog that... etc... it was funny as hell because all the customers looked at eachother laughing! bwhahaha (btw i did have a goatie at the time... only because it was for movember)

    LOL That's that's worst I've heard ahahahaaaa

  5. It should of came with a key when you bought it, Then you have a little box under the bonnet which you put the key in

LOL i didnt get no key !

um i just took out the right side of the battery (derno if its positive or negative) and the alarm is still on so is it the immbolizier ? LOL is so WHAT NOW?

Might be the backup battery for the Alarm that's keeping it running.

  6. I think it's easier to see whats in the tray and also put in and take out things if its on the bottom. Also with single din dvd units, having it on the bottom would block the tray once the screen comes up.

You can drill a hole if you like in the back of the pocket. Only problem I can see is if you leave the car and forget to take your mp3 or ipod with you, the device can be seen.

If you have a Sony tray like mine, you can hide stuff :)

  7. stacker is in the headunit? i believe the ascent is a single cd headunit, does toyota mean that a 6 stacker as a dealer option is replacing the single with a 6 stacker headunit?

That's correct. You won't need to worry about any wiring harnesses if you go down that path.
