  1. damn, you must ride your clutch alot - my friends car just got a new clutch for the first time ever and his car has done 140,000kms LOL shrugs

To be honest I went twisties cruise with a few friends the other night... mmmmmm next thing I know my clutch is gone....

    :help:

I have no idea why :whistling:

  2. hey guys...

My clutch is officially gone! The odd thing is, it jsut went straigh away out of no where? Is that normal? Because just about 3 weeks ago my brother car (s2k) needed clutch replacement as well, but it gradually got worse and worse until it hit a stage where he couldnt drive it.

Either way, it has to be replaced. Was jsut wondering if anyone knows somewhere relatively cheap that puts in a decent brand clutch and that is RELIABLE?

And how much would I be looking at?

    Thanks!

  3. I went up against a 03 rex... no major mods just exhaust/blow off.... got pretty owned... they kick really hard at the start and by the time lift kicks in at first its pretty much too late.... btw my cars all stock apart from a panel air filter.... soon to have a CAI in the next 2 weeks :spiteful:

  4. Looks nice man....Where can we get eyelids for facelifts sportivo's.

You can get C1 eye lids from their website... they fit the facelift stivo's...

My ones are from freddy@topstage.com... Just shoot him an email and ask him about the facelift sportivo eye lids. He's located in melbourne but will be happy to post. The eyelids dont come perfect... but after a bit of sanding they should be beautiful!

  5. very nice especially those eyelids :clap::toast::toast:

  6. Just to add to the thread, it migth save people some money.

When i bougth my sportivo it only came with one key.

Of course toyota want $300+ for it.

So i bougth one of ebay for $80, looks exactly the same as toyota with gold logo at the back, honestly real good key and you cant tell the difference.

Cutting was $11.95 and coding $30 at toyota and it took 20 min.

Here is the link to the guy that sold me the key on ebay

He doesnt have any corolla ones listed but i guess it doesnt hurt to ask if he can get some.

Hope this saves some one heaps of money like it did for me.

If you need any more info feel free to pm me.

    Thx

I wish someone made this thread earlier.... :(

I paid $300 for my key $50 to get it cut and programed....

Stupid me... that could have gone to my wing tips!!!

  7. Hey guys...

It's time to upgrade my sound system... i was just wondering with the front and rear door speakers what will fit? I am aware that the speakers in the corolla are mounted to the door... will 5.5" fit as the stock ones are 6" aren't they?

    Any help would be great

    Thanks...

  8. spotted reg no. poogie at unsw loading zone on monday night... nice JDM looking car!

Also, on the way home from uni today... spotted a parked facelift rolla... not sure if it was a sportivo... i tihnk it was sussex st? Black... also JDM style with front kit... yellow personal no. plates but couldnt make it out because of the rain.

  9. Hi guys...

was after some help with putting mesh behind my grill and the area under the grill on the face lift tivo. I took a quick look and saw the existing plastic was pretty much clip on... removing it shouldnt be a problem... but i have no idea how to stick the mesh on? and where would i get this mesh? I'm after black... have the guys who have done it painted silver mesh black... or is there someone that actualyl supplies proper mesh with a frame that actually clips on?

  10. I can get them done at Artarmon for $30 per wheel...

What wheels do you wanna get coated??? Whats the condition of them??? If there are any blemishes or tar spots you can't wash off you'll need to have them sandblasted which will add atleast $50 per wheel...

I'm getting my stock sportivo ones done... From my knowledge I dont think there are any blemishes or tar spots.. but isnt it necessary to sand blast them always to remove the existing glaze on them? $30 a wheel.. that is cheap! do you mind giving me a contact at the place?

    Much appreciated!

  11. Haha yeh that was me parked at burwood i just came to pick up my car now.

i got tanked last night :toast: .... what were you doing at burwood??

nice! I was just having a quite one with the girlfriend at georges... Just realised that place on the corner "flava??" gets pretty busy now... im guessing thats where u were hanging?

  12. I was also having this dilemma a month ago when i was searching for my car... But in my mind the only thing that made me consider the 03 over the 05 was the price... In saying that, I ended up getting the 05 and I'm happy I made that decision! With the 03 it is almost a MUST to get a grill and eye lids... with the 05 they've made the lights a little sharper to make it look a bit more aggressive and even if you dont do anything to the front it will still look good!

  13. I've been on the look out for eye lids + rear eye lids for quite a while now but cant seem to find ones that I like... i've searched ebay but no success.

Can someone please help me on where I can find these eye lids... or something similar to them... or it would be great if you could direct me to a site that has a range of eye lids I may be able to choose from... Also, how much would I be looking at in getting them painted for the stock black?

    Also regarding the rear skirt...

    * Is it possible to fit one if I have a tow bar?

    * I've heard the exhaust part needs to be cut (even for the stock sportivo exhaust) is this true?

    * How much do you think I would be looking at in getting it painted...

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks!!!

  14. mmmmm red calipers..... anyone willing to help me also on how to paint it Red?

    Hey mate...

I did myne about 1 week after getting my car... depending on if you want to do all 4 or just the front 2... its going to take u a solid 40mins+ per a wheel... thats giving it around 4-5 coats...

I've heard some people remove the caliper and paint it, but I just tried covering all areas surrounding it... I'm sure you would get a perfect job by removing the calipers! But to be honest I think my ones came out just as well... currently at uni... will post some pics for you when i get home!

Also, if you havent already had a go... remember to cover the body of your car!

  15. hey there.. ive done both

ive done a diy on the stockies and they were ok for bout a year or so then started to fade more and more each day untill i just decided to get them powder coated because i got new tyres and my *** they turned out 10x better then what i done lol my diy was a good job but this was a BETTER job well i havent really took much pictures but heres one of the rear

*note it stays really glossy and richer colour i guess forever if u powder coat them, i found that when i diy them that after awhile they just arent glossy any more.

in the end its up to you anyway but yerh i think its like an extra $150 ontop of diy

    diy $100

    powdercoat/sandblasting $230

    well hope that helps

    Steve,
