  1. I have secured details from a Supplier in China that he is prepared to sell us the following units for a price of $670AUD ea Delivered. with a mimimum of 20 units purchased. - This is negotiable

Due to the nature of these GB's falling over, i will be taking deposits of $200 from committed buyers that will be non refundable.

    Watch this space......

very interested in this, just remembering the last group buy of CAI's we could only JUST organise 5 people to commit and buy ant that was only $315. so what happens if there is say "interest" from 25 members, 12 people pay $200 deposit after weeks of organising and then we cant find anyone else to buy? do we all wait for 6 months until we get the numbers?

  2. interesting,, i'm currently looking for adjustable shocks also... and like you i'm not really keen on coilovers.

    are these rebuildable?

I haven't enqired or looked into if the C-one shocks are rebuildable. the car is 98% road use, and i dont want a firm ride, just a handling improvement on stock with a 30mm drop. IF i do decide to take the car on the track then the adjustable shocks will give me a chance to stiffen it up.

dont want coil overs, dont need adjustable height and would prefer a more comfotable road ride than a harder coil over with height adjust setting.

and im swaying towards paying a bit more for these and not having to modify anything

  3. C-ONE translated page link

im getting very close to ordering a set of these front and rear struts for the ZZE123/runx/sportivo. they are a 4 way adjustable shock and are the full strut.

the shocks adjust via a dial on the top of the strut, at the rear you would need to cut the trimming to access to top. I was originally looking to go the Koni Gold but after some reasearch have found that the fronts are an insert and I want to keep my stock set up in tact for the time I may want to revert back to stock.

I am going to install them with whiteline control springs 30mm drop.

has anyone had any experience with these? If i get them they will cost approx A$1350 including shipping from japan.

so far its the ONLY adjustable shock i can find that will fit my car, that includes the FULL strut front and rear, and that isn't a coil over set up.

  4. what mode is dyno on when most on here have had theirs on ? shootout4 (4 cylinder?)

    cheers

i went to the toymods dyno day on sunday morning and put the rolla through its paces. not sure what mode the dyno at SAS was on (didn't really know much about the modes and didn't ask either) but my car put out 107.9kw atw. my car is 05 model with Cai, twin loop muffler. its done about 50k on the odo. but yeah i know that diff dynos put out diff power figures and i was thinking that with the cai t would put out about 11-115 i guess. The power curve was very nice and the car drives well so i guess thats the most important thing.

  5. KYB stuff is good and I have supplied a bit of it to some people from here over the last few years with drama's at all.

hey SB i have been looking to do the final mod on my car (springs & strut) for the past few weeks.

all of my driving is on the road, when i do this mod i may take it to the track on the very rare occasion (maybe twice a year). i drive mainly inner city so i decieded against coilovers becasue i wont need hight adjust and want a harder than stock but not hard as nails ride for the road. I think i remember reading somewhere that you can supply YELLOW KONI adjustable shocks for $1030 which are the full strut?..... i would then look to match that up with some lowered springs. i only want to lower it 30mm as insurance will not insure me anything lower, and im happy with that minor drop front and rear.

my questions are........... can you get those shocks, and for a 30mm drop would you go with a whiteline control spring or a pedders spring?

and if you can get these shocks are they a full strut replacement with no cuting or modding, and so can i just buy the struts, the springs of choice put them together and fit them myself ? (at my mates place who has a hoist)

  6. Guys

I live on an incline, and when I drove out with the CAI now on, man, sometimes has real trouble getting enough revs to drive off up the hill.

Anyone else experience this and suggestions.

Figure something in the MAF is heating up, and it takes longer with the CAI.

Let me know, short of letting the car run for longer on start up.

    whitestivo

yeah when i finish work and the air is cold on a cold day, if i start the car and start driving the instant its on and give it no revs (like when i had the stock box, coz rollers are so idiot proof and easy to drive) sometimes i find it not wanting to go............just give it some more revs and its fine.

  7. The bloody post office had our intakes on monday or tuesday but failed to let yuri know that they had actually arrived (either that or the dodgy post office owner has a rolla and was hoping for it not to be picked up so he could upgrade his own car...... :-) fitting them 2moro, bought some vacume caps today. cant wait!

  8. Tobey, apologies my friend, i havent received anything yet.. which is just aswell, i've been very busy with work and uni.. but when it does arrive, i will let you know asap.. hopefully it'll arrive this week, Sydney customs might take longer than others, who knows..

but yeah, many many thanks to mIC for organising this [Group Buy]

oh cool no worries. i keep finding myself popping the bonnet and wanting to unclip the airbox just to get a taste of intake sound.......lets hope it comes in today or 2moro...........

  9. nice!

    so every1s got it?

    how about yuro???

spoke to yuri day before yesterday hadn't recieved it yet. im hoping he has it by now but his phone is off so havn't been able to get hold of him.

im keen as mustard to put it in this weekend, bought a 3a racing pod yesterday for 30 bucks.

  10. Cools. Possible to find out vic's as well? :P

sorry guni just saw your comment, didn't check vic's avail or stockers, but did buy one today, cost me $30 from AUTOQUIP in burwood westfield. they have them for sale for $40.00 but after i spoke to distributors (which have an 03 number so avail in vic should be ok i think) he called the shop and said i was coming and to do a good price for me....i sort of told the lady there that all my mates were going to come and get them too if it was a good filter and she did a good price.....hehe

  11. Strut Brace & Sway Bar - I'll get them when I'm convinced I need them, the chasis handles nicely on stock suspension

Im on stock suspension with 17" wheels and new tyres. i put in a 24mm whiteline rear swaybar on the weekend and a front strut brace. the brace looks nice in the bonnet, but the real upgrade was the sway bar you DONT see. car is a lot more flat through the corners, best $220 ive spent so far on the car. very happy with it. It only took me about 15 minutes to install, didn't jack the car up just climbed underneath with a 19mm socket and a breaker bar and a 19mm spanner, pulled out the old and put in the new. so easy and noticebly different on stock springs and shocks.

  12. ive got an 05 sportivo and the sound system was pretty average. i changed the front splits to 6" denon with crossovers (fit them in the doors, not sure how you'd go with an 08 model though) i then ran a 4 channel amp and 12" sub in a sealed box.

i mounted the amp to the side of the box and put a bracket on the box and mounted it to the floor using the child restraint bolt/thread. i used 2 channels to run the splits, the deck to run the rear stock speakers and the other 2 channels to run th sub. all up the system weighs in less than 15kg as i didn't want to effect the performance.

the box is small and i can still split the 60/40 seat down (the 60% side). im very happy with the set up as i took some of the bass out of the front speakers as i didn't want them making funny noises without sound deadeing the doors. bass is good and the rear speakers are fine filling in the sound from the back. later installed a speaker to RCA converter as the one built into the amp wasn't sufficent enoght to get rid of the 'noise'.

there are pic's of my set up in the members ride section

  13. trd cai, $305, delivered in less than a week, 6 days including weekend to be precise......there was only two of them purchased at the same time too..... ......curious, wouldn't ya say?

Anyways, big ups to the big fella, sortin this out :toast:

sounds great.............would you like to share with us how you got this so cheap and so quickly?

  14. Guni, you should be able to get some half descent tyres for stock 16" under $200.00 based on what I got for my 17's. some tyres can get pretty expensive though.

as far as tyres go roughly around the $220 to $280 a tyre depending on your choice

I recently purchased tyres for my BC rims (215/40/17) I did a lot of research to find ones that were good, met the load rating and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I got mine from BOB JANE tempe, the ones i originally wanted were the FEDERAL 595EVO, but they're not avail in australia until the 4th quarter of this year as Japan and USA have got first stock. So I then wanted the slightly noisier SS595 in the XL, quoted $150.00 a corner (but they were temp out of stock of the XL which met the load rating)

so I went with the FULDA EXCELERO instead, I got them at a very good price $180.00 a corner (as a couple of other members here had them) and im very happy with them.

  15. Maybe this will help your decsion somewhat!

    ZERO 1

A$1,600 shipped via sea (6-8 weeks transit time)

A$1,750 shipped express (2-3 working days transit time)

just wondering, is this pricing from Nengun? and im guessing the shipping price is to WA, would you know how much it would be to sydney?

  16. the supplier said its fine.. 5 order is enough..

and.. he said he MIGHT be able to fit 3 CAIs into 1 bigger box*

Might be cheaper.. or it might cost the same. waiting for reply.

if everything goes well, i will be able to pay them next wednesday! (if every1 can pay once they got my details)

    so, be prepared guys!

ok sounds great, cant wait. so which one of you from blacktown is going to drive to my house and fit the new CAI on my sportivo?...........

    hehe

For those people that dont have a sportivo, get one anyway, put it in the garage, then when you trade in your hyundai and buy a sportivo you'll have a nice little project for your new car.

  19. TAYLESS I didn't realise the 595Evo's were out yet

the 595evos have been out for a while overseas, but japan, then USA got priority and we still haven't seen there in oz yet.

KENNETH mind if i ask where EXACTLY u stuck ur crossover

it fits pretty much exactly as you see it in the pic, i then taped a peice of cloth with elec tape to the back of the crossover (so that it didn't rattle agains the metal) and didnt screw it down so that when i put the door trimming back on i could shuffle it around until it was snug. i just let it hang there on the wires and put the door trimming back on. very tight fit but didnt stick out and got all the trim plugs back in.
