  1. I have spoken to an installer who has already fitted systems to the Kluger. He said the spearkers were fairly good and the head unit was crap.

Thats exactly what Ive heard, and its often the case with car audio.

Let us know how your install goes!

  2. I thought the little light was a UV light to illuminate the control markings on the steering wheel.

The lights on the steering wheel are self-illuminated.

The uv light thing pointing down seems to direct more toward the console.

  3. Hi, my brother-in-law has the CVX and he hasnt reported any problems.

One thing with the first gen Klugers, the safety features improve as you go up in the models; CV, CVX and Grande.

The safety features on the new Kluger are the same across the board.

One thing you can do, is to try and find a CVX with the Safety Pack. My bro-in-law paid about another $2k for it, I think it added more air-bags and traction control (or mightve been vehicle swerve control)

  4. has anyone noticed that the small hole in the middle of the interior light is also a light. it seems to be on all the time and lights up the part of the center console aroung the gear shift. i can't find a switch to turn it off and it's only visible at night when there are no street lights around.

Actually I really like this light. Its a soft blue and gives a nice ambience to the cabin in my opinion.

  5. We have the 2WD and we're happy. Roughly 11-12 litres per 100ks around town, low 10s on the freeway.

Dont forget, the AWD option is another $4500. If you're not planning to go offroad often, it may not be worth it. Ive actually driven on a lot of fire trails and offroad surfaces as Im a mountain biker on the weekends. The clearance and approach angles of the vehicle are great and Ive not been stuck yet.

Im more than happy with the safety features of our vehicle, even though its not AWD.

I believe the 2WD version has lower servicing costs ultimately too.

  6. I had read stuff here re people who were not happy with the park brake and I was not happy with mine - it seemed to be at the very end of it's travel to get it to work so I asked them to check it - they adjusted it and it is better now --- but you get charged for "adjustments"

Ive noticed this in our car too. I pushed down, almost to the floor the other day, and we still rolled backward.

  7. Lol, no worries Don.

Did you get mounting screws with your fog lights?

I ended up getting self taping screws from Bunnings to mount them. (let me know if you need the exact size.)

Also, Id recommend put a thick rubber washer on the bottom screw mount to angle the fogs down a little.

Ive noticed with mine, that they point fairly high and outward to the side of the vehicle. When i have some free time, I plan to put a washer in to angle the fogs down on the road.

  8. Sydney City Toyota today quoted me; "$795 + approx $50 freight via TNT" for tow bar assembly (08 Kluger)

Noble Toyota have quoted $609 + $50 freight - but Im not not sure yet if that is inc GST (probably not)

But the price is much better. I mentioned that ive ordered parts from them before and they've looked after me on price , and to my surprise I got a discount.
