That's a pretty cool look, too bad I own the sedan :(
But there are way's to mod them too... Which I have done :D
Any pics??? :D

Been focusing on getting my computer up & running lately, so i haven't had a chance to sort out the knock yet. :)
-
Sorry for the late reply guys (computer troubles :( ).
The coilovers i got are the GF model. From what i've managed to decipher from the Tanabe site, they're stiffer and more track focused than the NF (thankfully not back-breaking though).
For the rear height adjustment, the spring perch and locking ring are fitted to a threaded sleeve (gold coloured bit in the pic). :)

The ride isn't too firm, but it can be a bit uncomfortable on fairly rough roads. Max. drop is approx. 2" front and 2.5" rear (where they're presently set at), but can be adjusted higher.
Jesse how are the coilovers going? any probs or complaints?also i dont like raised boot spoilers but i really like this
The only issue i've encountered so far is that the rear springs knock over some bumps, but i'm pretty sure it's because i had to leave out the rubber upper spring mount during installation, since the stock mounts won't fit over the adjustment thread.
Also, i've currently got my sights set on this...

Question, how did you know it will fit your car when you were ordering it?
Before i placed the order, i asked Toyota spare parts if the shocks and springs used in the Corolla hatch and sedan were the same.

I work pretty close to Woodville Rd., so i'm usually lurking around there quite alot.
As for my next mod, i'm considering getting a set of Cusco swaybars and a front strut brace.
:D

I'll definately be coming to the cruise on Saturday! Never been through the Nasho before, so it should be interesting. :)

If all goes well i should have them in this weekend!

After a very long (2 1/2 month) delay, my Tanabe coilovers have finally arrived.
-
Got room for another ZRE??? :)
-
I'll come if i can get my coilovers in before then.
-
Sorry to hear about your mishap John.
I managed to get some Cusco part numbers that you and fellow ZRE owners might be interested in.:)
- Front Strut Brace = 942 540 A
- Front Underbody Brace = 942 475 A
- Front Sway Bar = 925 311 A30
- Rear Sway Bar = 942 311 B16
All these can be ordered through Nengun auctions, and i'm pretty sure JDM Yard can import Cusco parts aswell.
-
I realise this is a "hot hatch" thread, but i felt compelled to post this up. :)
-
The noise is caused by the brake pads vibrating against the caliper/mounting bracket when cold. :)
-
REALLY OMG YOU MADE ME EXCITED lOL! i wanna get some now from nengun but gg to the shipping time :( its like 4 weeks or something
JDM Yard quoted me about the same time to ship a set of Tanabe Sustec coilovers(plus $1500).
They should arrive sometime mid next month.
-
getting coilovers is a good idea but finding some for the ZRE thats freaking hard... ive check nengun as i said b4 most of them only deliver within in japan only...
With Nengun, the seller would send the item to the Nengun warehouse, then they would ship the item out to the buyer. :)

So does anyone know where some antisway bars could be had for the zre?
You can get front swaybars from TRD(part of the Sportivo suspension set) and C-One. Not sure if there are any rear swaybars out there though.
