  1. It was not a counterbalance bearing as I was lead to believe - it was a flex plate between the gear box and the motor (I think). considering we did 1400km after the noise started. It was still rotating when it was pulled out despite the crack being complete - it was just snagging enough to keep the car moving. cost parts $400 plus labor
  2. I was right to be scared - Bridge toyota just quoted me $2500 for labor plus parts it's my only car and I have be driving to medical appointments to much - I think http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/08/17/2658314.htm
  3. I believe my Toyota Tarago 2001 ACR30 has done a counter balance bearing. Has any one else had this done? How hard is it to do it your self? I'm a bit scared to ask - how much did it cost you?
  4. there are 4 fuse boxes :o on the acr30 2 in the engine bay and one behind the drivers kick panel and another behind the passengers kick panel and up to the left of the main glove box. I only knew of three when i found the fourth it had 2 blown fuses - all fixed now... :)
  5. you could help here v8toy! oh thats right you all ready tried
  6. I have been through the fuses and they all seem ok however I have no dash lights or tail lights - the head lights still work. any suggestions are most appreicated - which fuse? and thing else I have missed???
  7. all 3 of ours have the same problem - and it is worse if the kids don't shut the door properly or leave a light on. I am starting to worry about the alternator on one but if you get an answer I will be interested in what they say
  8. Hi I am newly register but have been reading here for a while. I have 3 acr30's (due to having to many children) i figured the same model and year (2001) would be easiest to work on (when the kids leave home - i'm gunna get a celica). I have an acr30 which has had the air bags deployed then replaced. but the light is on.- how can i reset it? My other acr30 was brought up from Sydney on freight - and they failed to transport my keys which were in it! they claim they weren't.... so i had advanced diagnostics in Brisbane (were really good) reset the ecu and barrel to a virgin key after being cleared of any thief suspicion. so now it's all good except the remote locking - how can i code the remote lock thingy??? any assistance is greatly appreciated
