  1. Hi Guys, First post so here goes...simple question.

Just wondering if anyone has fitted remote start to their corolla?

I'm just about to put one on our Sportivo and was wondering if by chance (like on a friends Nissan) there is a position on the gearbox for a neutral switch? Or will I have to go for the rope switch arrangement around the gear stick? :g:

    Thanks.

remote start??u mean starting ur rolla using a remote?or like a button where u press it and start ur car?if like pressing thingy, Danz fitted one of those on his car....not sure if thats what u mean.

  2. C-ONE and Bomex kits are nice but way way way too expensive for me as well...i agree with sum of u....even the front lip costs like $1000+ unpainted...brr..oh well...im getting my kit soon and its cheap but well thats the only thing i could get so if its not fit, then it'll be the seller problem to work it out till it fits....hahah thats why i paid him for..

  3. hey ppls,

as the topic goes........ daz recently put two up for grabs and went in a flash, so im wondering if nemore ppl want it, so at the moment its just an interest.

not much too write up about im sure most of u know the jist of it all, the price i think is $175 maybe less.

so put a hands up if ur intrested at this point.

    thnks kym

    Hey Kym,

$175? are u after the TRD front and rear ones? the ones i had were jst fronts for the hatch but set of four for the sedan- $50. PM me if u want contacts.

Hey, $50 for front for hatch?how much send?

  4. Thats just the engine when its cold, it will be fine once its warmed up.

Additionally you need an ECU reset, just do a search for it and your car will be running fine.

ECU resetting euy?heard that one before but never been able to do it.is it safe using that way?so i'll just have to disconnect the battery, press the brake for few times and connect it and start it then let it idle...and the wat?

  5. Howdy all, first post for me as I've moved over here from the WRX community.

I am after some advice on what is doing with this mod.

I recently purchased a stock 02 corolla. I put a cold air intake (short ram) onto the car and started it up. It sounded ok for a little drive but when I got up this morning and started the car the intake sounded like a cyclone. The pod sounded like it was sucking air in but it was that loud I had to take it off it. This was just on idle. The car also idled a little rough.

The intake is model specific (purchased from SportivOoo_03)and I tried two different pods with the same result.

Any info would be great. :help::help::help:

    PROCEDURE I DID:

    Remove stock air box.

silicon elbow onto throttle body then attach pipe with air flow meter attached to top of pipe in the allowed spot. Attach pod and then the two, I think they are, vaccum hoses back into the part that comes off the factory box.

    cheers

    Simon

ehmm2x....i dunno whether u have the same prob as me or not but...i think almost the same.i would like to clarify again, r u using the stock pipping?im using K&N pod filter attached to stock pipping, it makes cyclone noise as well....and my mechanic says that the idle level is too low.... he told me to ask the toyota mechanic to increase the idle level when i service it but the toyota dude told me that they cant (dunno why). its only making cyclone noise when the engine is cold.but once its warmed up, it'll turn back to normal.im used to the noise now...since it doesnt troubled me so i just leave it as it is.well not sure if this is helpful but just letting u knw, i have the same prob. dunno exactly why...

  6. I recommend you go 17s only for looks, otherwise choose 16s for performance. I think these rims are pretty heavy, have a look at Blue_Stivo car, he has some light weight starcorp rims for sale.

dunno if I'm selling the rims yet... they may be transferable.

as for 17 vs 16s. I only got 16s because the tyres were cheaper and easier to get as semi-slicks in the right size. 17s (as long as they are light weight) are still great. Personally I think the corolla would be perfect on 16.5 inch rims but good luck finding some, and then tyres to match...

the particular rims you have pointed out though are pretty heavy. I suggest you go to Tempe Tyres and just lift a few up on the racks and just see for yourself ;)

come to think of it...Blue_Stivo's gold rims similar with mine.its light.very nice as well...

Yep their the same. Are they 17s or 16s? Donza also has the same rims in 17s, they are awesome rims for the price :)

On a side note that pic of your car with the rims, was that taken on the Parade? Damn I miss Adelaide :(

they are 17s...bought it second hand for $550.still good threads...some kerb scratch on the wheels but overall im happy with it. ^_^.the pic was taken at chinatown.^_^...yeah u shud come by sumtimes haha

  7. i saw that kit before.too extreme for me personally.it looks good for ppl who likes extreme style.but not for me.

    i'll be getting this

    http://www.carmate.com/product_details.php...&p_id=11003

but i wont be getting this kit from carmate.ppl said they are not reliable.

got it frm a guy in adelaide.still in process...^_^ tell me what you guys think, some of u might not like it.

thats not really a kit its just a front add on lip and diff skirts....

and once you get that on your car is going to be dyam pretty low if you've already lowered it....if planning to lower it once on i reckon just go with king lows as if you get super low..your not going to get anywhere...lol

hahah yeah...thats what i thought.i replaced my springs to low king spring. hmmm but im pretty sure the front bar is the whole bar.not an add on lip.thats what the dude told me and yeah im getting the side skirts and rear corner lip.hehe...see how it goes...hopefully all will b fine.

  9. ive seen that grille up close.. not really impressed.

if its not genuine a toyota/sportivo/jdm grille then it doesnt really suit IMHO.

front bar looks ok- its different, and not too sporty if that is what you are after

i wont get similar grille as that.i'll use my JDM grille. front bar looks half stock half modified.thats what im after.simple yet different.^_^will post up pics when done.,
