  1. Using iGO? I've found it actually picks up the signal almost immediately, but it takes a bit for the software to remember that you'd rather be following where you're going instead of the last place you turned it on at. Hitting the show my position icon (along the bottom towards the right) drops it back to following your position. bok
  2. Hi guys, Thought I'd have a crack at replacing the loading screen for iGo8 with something a little more appropriate for an Aurion. Disclaimer: not a graphic designer, can just tinker in photoshop a bit. Here's what I came up with: I've dropped it into mine and think it looks ok, here it is loading up 15 minutes ago (apologies for shaky hands): If you want to add it to yours you'll need this: http://tyrande.odynia.org/aurion/loading.bmp In your IGO8 directory find the data.zip file Unzip this somewhere (keep a copy of the original for backups) Copy the loading.bmp file into <where you extracted the file to>\ui_igo8\480_234\ (replace the existing loading.bmp) Zip the folder back up to data.zip and replace it on your SD card where you found it If you're using windows XP/Vista too you can just double click the data.zip file, go to ui_igo8 and then 480_234 and drag your new loading.bmp into this file - it should zip it in there for you. If someone else wants to have a crack at making a nicer one please do! Happy to supply the PSD for my attempt. :) bok
  3. OEM connector in the rear, full control on the touchscreen - the scrolling on the touchscreen is terrible though, you're much better off using the remote for the iPod control. Bluetooth integration is average quality. Hearing them is good, mic pickup not so good. As soon as the bluetooth detects a call it switches to the bluetooth mode and disables all other sound. The keypad works fine but you can't change settings for any other mode (ie can't change sat nav settings while in bluetooth mode). bok
  4. Hehe I didn't, but only because Rob specifically pointed them out and told me to remove them when I picked the unit up. I had it almost installed before I remembered though! bok
  5. Nice job! Been looking at installing mine for my SX6 also, so no factory mounting hole - but you can see the spot where it should go. Was it just a matter of drilling there with the provided holesaw or something else obvious? Might install mine this weekend :-) Thanks, bok
  6. Nice work! It's a shame that avenue is closed to us, but that is truly some nice information gathering :) bok
  7. I never installed the TV Antenna but i did install the GPS Antenna inside the dash board on top of one of the centre vents (another member suggested this). It works flawlessly and is totally out of sight. I've installed the TV Antenna but don't anticipate ever actually using it. Its there though if I ever get stuck somewhere (ie, the wife keeps me waiting somewhere) and want to use it. I ran all three (TV, GPS, Reversing Camera) to the back parcel shelf down the left as per DKzr6's post here. I have photos of the whole process; I'm putting together a step-by-step for those thinking about doing it themselves. bok
  8. Actually to skip to the next song on my iPod I use the >>| button, on the right hand side of the touch wheel :-) Can anyone else confirm whether their steering wheel skip controls work the same way? If they all work this way then so be it, I'm already used to it and it doesn't bother me. If our units are backwards though compared to everyone else then I would like it fixed if possible. :D bok
  9. Its a pretty good unit. I'll second (or third, fourth etc) most of the observations from the others who have posted. Aside from a couple of minor issues the unit functions perfectly. It feels solid and is definitely looks like part of the car. Most of my mates have assumed it was factory fitted. Where it does fall down on though is documentation - if you're not sure what you're doing your best off getting it installed professionally, and a glossary for some of the more obscure acronyms would have helped too. Otherwise it "feels" pretty damn awesome! Definitely worth what I've paid for it. bok
  10. Finally went to use the seek buttons today - and they're backwards! My radio reception sounds alright though, but I think I'll double check the pins anyway. Did you end up with a resolution to the backwards buttons? If not I'll shoot an email through to Rob so there's more than one customer waiting on a fix. bok
  11. Hi Olywood, I'd say no, probably not. The AVC-6901 that we're talking about here is designed for the Aurion/Camry. However, Auspack does sell the same unit in generic double-din configurations (I believe it is the same unit, can't say for sure). Your best bet would probably be to email Rob @ Auspack (see the website) and he'd be able to give you a definite answer. bok
  12. Here is a link - http://rapidshare.com/files/122782141/IGO8_PNA.zip.html (It should have the sys file configured for you already) Now you need to find the Australian Maps file to go with it. Downloaded and unzipped fine here. Many many thanks!
  13. I wasn't asking you to? (unless you're talking to fatsatman?). The keyword in my original request was purchase, as in does anyone know of a local distributor? bok
  14. Well I was hoping to avoid that if possible
  15. For those of us who don't yet have it, any suggestions on where to purchase Igo? Google is so far turning up nada (unless they OEM it under a different name that I can't find :) ) Cheers, bok
