  1. Hi guys.

My next project is doing BIG 3 upgrade to stabilize the electrocity since my electrocity is a bit unstable for now..

All the cables, fuses, etc are on way for delivery but I just want to clarify the terminals on alternator.

I am pretty sure the terminal with round rubber cap on it is positive, but I can't see the negative one.

Could anybody tell me the exact place of positive and negative terminals on alternator?

I couldn't find which one is positive or negative from manual as pic below.

    alternator.jpg

BTW, our alternator is rated at 100AMP, right??

According to my research, the fuse(for alternator to battery) should be rated same amp(100AMP) with alternator.

    Is this correct?

Thanks for your comments in advance.

  2. Welcome aboard mate.

    Where about sydney?

I've seen a couple white TRD one on the road currently.

BTW, installing HID do not require the bumper off.

Also, for the fog lights, you can just open up the wheelhousing from the side.

If you have big hands, you're gonna have alot of swear words tho..

Inner west mate. Nice ride you got there. Love the black but I am too lazy to wash the car :P thats why I got a white one.

Thanks for the tips I will start working on it this weekend and take some photos hopefully.

Inner west? I think i've seen you mate. have you ever been driving through auburn area?

Oh yeah...black is such a b!tch to keep it clean really..

and the problem is...once I wash my car, it rains next day...WTF!!

  6. 6. Connect the display with main unit & hide the cable inside the car.

    parking-12.jpg

The display cable passes through from the hole you can see on the picture to side of left rear passenger side.

(This way does not require taking the back seat off. If you want tidy job, you can take the back seat off and arrange the cable.)

    parking-13.jpg

    parking-14.jpg

Hide the cable underneath rubber and plastic covers.

Warning! If you have side curtain airbag, make sure the wire go above the side curtain airbag so it won't be blocking the side curtain airbag release.

    256_5685.jpg

Don't forget to place your display.

I put my display on the room mirror but it is upto you.

You can place the display anywhere you like.

    256_5691.jpg

Now, parking sensor installation is done.

    256_5663.jpg

Now, all screws and clips have been removed. Take your bumper off with care.

    3. Drill your bumper & put the sensors in..

Make holes with hole saw where we have marked in stage 1.

Hole saw normally comes with the parking sensor package.

If not, make sure to use proper hole saw to prevent the holes are being too big or small.

    parking-8.jpg

If the sensors are directional, make sure the 'UP' sign is upside.

Make sure all the sensors are placed as horizontal with ground.

    sensors.jpg

Arrange your cable with using cable tie & duct tape.

    4. Test & connet the main power unit with tail light.

    parking-9.jpg

Connect the main unit of parking sensor with tail light which is turned on when you reverse.

    parking-10.jpg

Test the main unit, dispaly and each sensor to make sure they are all working fine.

    5. Put your bumper back & place the main parking sensor unit.

    parking-11.jpg

Put all the cables into the trunk through the hole with rubber cap or the air flow terminal.

I put all the cables in through the air flow terminal because the cables are not long enough.

Place the main unit and arrange all the cables.

    Put your bumper back.

    Parking Sensor Install Guide for

    Camry 2005 & 2006

Note: This page contains guide and tips only. Any damages or risks during installing are on your own risk.

    parking-1.jpg

Parking sensors can be purchased from Ebay or any local shops.

I purchased a set with 4 sensors only for rear bumper.

PS. I have done 2004 camry 4cyl and 2005 camry V6 and they are all same.

Click the images for full sized picture.

    1. Open your trunk. Measure the centre line and make marks for sensors on the bumper.

    * I used paper tape to make some marks on it. Sensors should be placed about 45~60CM high from the ground.

    measure.jpg

    parking-2.jpg

    256_5646.jpg

    2. Now we have to take the bumper off but it is a bit tricky.

    parking-3.jpg

    parking-4.jpg

Remove a screw from the wheel house.

    parking-5.jpg

    256_5656.jpg

After handles removed, remove the plastic cover by it pulling up.

    parking-6.jpg

    parking-7.jpg

Do this step in both right & left side.

  9. you may like the ride I have never tried them in aurion but had them in series 2 rx7 and like i said at first they were great fealt driffrent but after while it just became to much bouncing around.

i hated them in saying that i have just gone out and bought 20 inch rims with 30 series tyres i have very strong gut feeling that iam going to hate the ride feeling all the bumps.

but i will try if i don't like i will sell iam like grandfather like to cruise in style but wilth the comfort of upmarket car manufatures.

nothing beat comfort drives u learn to enoy the quite , smooth comfy drive - there's other like big fat pipes that make useless noise and cut down springs teenage hoons but to them that look and sound cool hairing a farting noise sound from the muffler.

I been there done it but Iam over it & there no right or wrong here we all have our personel prefrence on how we want to pimp our rides.

so hope u didn't take the post as an attack it was just my view and experience in previous set up.

    Cheers

    All cool.

    No offence taken.

  10. my personal prfrence I would never buy some again i even gave mine away for swap back to stock.

coil over are meant for smooth race tracks with no bumps and humps unless you want it bumping up and down and shake and rattle go for it at first you think its cool ride after while you relise nah this is so un cool and **** ride.

thats me other people like feeling the ripples of the rd bouncing up and down.

+ overtime they will leak oil out of them and drip onto your concrete as there designed to bleed

    Azza

One of my concerns is the comfy too and that is why I brought these in my hand.

The softest setup on BC is just like sportivo stock and they are not bumpy as D2, G4 or some other coilies in same price range.

So I bought these after spending ALOT of time on researching.

Besides, the original purpose of getting coilovers is lowering for me.

    I have 20s with 35 profile tyres.

As we all know, if I just change the springs over stock suspensions, no doubt they will scrub BIG time.

Also, the price of changing the whole tyres and purchasing coilovers are nearly same.

    What would you choose?

I chose coilovers because my tyre threads are still heaps left and changing tyres and replacing springs sounds like wasting money for me.

BTW, all the suspension setup have their own lifespan and they will be defected one they over time as you said.

It's not only coilovers but also stock suspensions do the same as well.

I would like to raise a question on your theory that coilovers are meant to be used in race track.

YES, you're right. What if I say what about bodykit? what about sway bars? what about light weight wheels?

Aren't all these meant to be racing measures?

I wouldn't agree if someone says coilovers are for race track and cannot be used on street since most of the technologies & mecanisms on car are from motor racing sports.

It just sounds like black&white logic for me.

What about people with stock suspension with lowering springs?

I know alot of rolla guys in this forum having good laptime with their lowering springs with stock suspension.

Would you say those stock suspensions are not meant to be on race track?

As you said, it's all personal preference and you can't push your feeling to everyone else because everyone has different preference.

I apology if I am being a bit rude.

But I really don't wanna see someone says "It's s**t!!!" although the 'someone' never tried it before.

I really doubt you've tried BC racing coilovers, Teins or whatsoever because they are not that hard with softest setting.

  11. when painting plastic bits liek the engine cover and mudguards do you really have to prime it first? what happens if you dont?

Well..I didn't put any prime before I painted but it looks OK for me.

I just did 4~5 light layers with spray paint.

If you're chasing Professional job done, you may have to prime it first, probably.

  12. Agreed. Nice work JIN !!!

Been looking at this for a while now Wil. Can feel the age old coilies vs springs+shocks debate kicking in again and having just acquired my KYB + Kings, I have to confess that i'm loving the comfy-ness + stable cornering. Having said that + reading JIN's review, this could be one of the coilies to go. I've been contemplating since I first saw it ......

    decisions decisions decisions ............. :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

How much did you get yours delivered for JIN ? Don't remember seeing a price. :)

    Thanks mate.

I paid $1285AUD for the set delivered.

If the seller had the set in his hand, i would've saved about $70 more maybe.

Yeah, the comfort was the one I was considering about too.

I don't like too stiff suspensions which makes me bouncing all the time in the car.

The reason why I picked BC is, I found some threads talking about stiffness on BC and it could be pretty soft not like other coilies such as D2 or K-sport.

I've already tried D2 and K-sport before and I know how they feel like.

Once I installed my set, I made my setting with full soft all around and it just felt like factory sportivo suspensions which is quite impressive..

I made them a bit stiffer now tho..

oh tru tru, so do you mean your set was just like a one off mistake?

    Yeah.

It was just a mistake which is understanable since those two front top mounts look same.XD

  13. Thanks Evo. The front will turn out nicely for sure with the eyelids. :D

Wait till you get the eyelids, they will finish off the front nicely B)

    Car looks good :D

    Evo

Yeah. I am very satisfied and happy with them.

You may find thread from Aurion section about full progress of BC coilovers.

    Link is below.

    Coilover Tryout

How do you like BC coilovers? Satisfied with them? )
  14. I found these on the net.

Wonder if they are from the same seller/brand/make as where you got yours.

yeah Guni these are the same brand and make.. but i'm not too sure if thats where he got them from tho..

i'm highly considering these... i'v been reading alot about these lately.. they sound like vaule for money and theres been alot of happy customers....

now i'm just waiting to see if we get this goverment grant and then i'll place my order.. :P

Guni are you planing on getting a set?? if you are we should work something out..

    good report JIN..

Yeah. I brought my set from him but he didn't have any sets for 06+ camry which can be fitted onto our aurions, so he redirected my order directly to the factory in Taiwan.

I am pretty sure he's got some for rolla with lower price I had.
