  1. any place that makes WRX intakes should be able to make one for your camry. The subaru's use the same denso MAF mount as the recent toyota's.

The actual fabrication should only take an hour or two once you decide on the route and design.

Make sure you measure the stock internal intake diameter at the MAF, you need to get this right on the aftermarket intakes to have them perform the best.

This 2ZZ intake I made on the weekend has an internal MAF airflow straightener welded in to ensure the MAF reads correctly:

    That intake looks gangster B)

  2. Hi everyone,

Round 3 of the Winton Motor Raceway BP Midland/Pedders No Bull Sprint Series will be held on July 1st. This is the 3rd round of the 5 round series. For anyone who has never competed in one of these events before it is basically an entry level into motorsport. There are very basic requirements for your vehicles and the whilst you will be competing for trophies it is aimed at having a bit of fun. If you have tried the Fun Day and enjoyed it, then this is the next step. The cost is $90 if you pre-enter or $100 on the day, which is extremely CHEAP!! You will need a AASA Club Licence or higher which is $50 for 12 months if you dont already have one. The entry forms and regulations can be downloaded from HERE

The Classes are more than reasonable and are as follows:

1A Road Registerable Under 2 Litre

1B Road Registerable Over 2 Litre

2 Improved Production (eg. WRX, XR6, Skylines)

    3A Modified Under 2 Litre

    3B Modified Over 2 Litre

Racing - Racing Cars (any car with slick tyres)

    Ladies - All Ladies

Juniors - Between 16-18 years of age

Also if you want to get your setup right for the Sprints there is a special Test & Tune day on Saturday 30th June. So you can come up on Saturday, test your car get the setup right and be ready for Sunday.

I hope to see you all there, I will be competing in the Purple and Yellow EA Falcon, number 60. Come and say hello if you are about.

    Cheers

    Adam

Are full slicks allowed or will i have to use semi slicks? And if i do use full slicks will i have to race in a different class?

  3. It's not caused by ECU.

It's caused by ecu not tuned well, or abusive driving.

So not tuning the ECU properly makes it drop a rod :huh: Xoom me thinks Danz is on the wacky tobaccy :o :o

The only reason the engine dropped a rod was because the limiter was bumped up a bit and as Northy would be the first to admit he drove it on the limiter all the time.

You can drive a 2zz on the limiter all day and not hurt it. But the Stock ECU has the limiter set at that point for a reason. The rods can't handle the extra RPM stress and as Northy proved you bump up the limiter and look what happens. You get 2 nice inspection holes and trail of fire under the car. So therefore the ECU controlling the limiter was more than likely the reason why this happened.

But then you granny shift don't you Danz so it'd never be a problem for you :P

    SO that means..

    1. The ECU was not tuned well because the limiter was set too high

    2. Abusive driving - driving on this limiter day in, day out.

Hence the two nice inspection holes and a trail of fire under the car.

  4. WhY......Does this same topic or discussion keep coming up  !!?? So many times this debate has been cleared up for all to read:

*Sports car (2 door) Vs Family Car (4 door)* Obvious result is'nt it !!!

But if i owned a Integra i'd be embarassed that a toyota with 4 doors and a car thats not even classed as a sports car is just as fast if not faster in some occasions and is cheaper to buy!!! :yahoo: And are much more comfortable to drive and be a passenger i absolutely hate the interior stylings of HONDAS it feels like if your going to have an acco it's going to hurt but in a rolla or any other TOYOTA for that matter you feel alot more cossy and secure!! :toast: Why dont we just start a new thread "MRS Vs S2000" or maybe "Camry Sportivo Vs NSX" thats just as intellegent!!

    OK MR RICER

Id expect your car to move somewhere with all those stickers on it, are u signing up for JTCC or something with your "family car"? Do u think this is The fast and the furious? :spiteful: Id be embarassed to stand next to your car let alone sit inside.

  5. can't remember what magazine it was (maybe wheels?). But they rated the dc2r up with supercars like mclarens and porsches as greatest all time cars.

That was EVO magazine , their 100th edition ...along with the WRX P1 model :P :toast:

They also mentioned the Sportivo (UK) version as well ... but not in the same section

    Hey Jules

Why don't u give your opinions on this? You've been in both cars!

  6. HID + fog lights

    hidxi4.th.jpg

I suggest to change the fog lights lamps.

I don't like the difference between 2 colours............personal idea :whistling:

The photo doesn't do it justice...it looks pretty good in the metal...

but light redish foggies would be my suggestion :)

    damn ricer

  7. omg such a clean engine bay.

my R had only 45k on it and its dirtier then that

ZOMG MUGEN AIRBOX *envy* i dont have a spare 1000 bux lying around -.-

is there a mugen twin loop going with that setup?

*** your cars so much kewler compared to my former R. :whistling:

it should be cleaner considering it has 42k on the clock B)

  8. U asked for me Shao? :spiteful:
