  1. i have tried evrything...as soon as it starts, the injectors stop running......no pulse........i took off the rocker cover to notice the cam sensor square magnet things broken off after i accidently put a 1zz-ge sensor in by mistake.....now i need a 2zz-ge camshaft too... car been like this for months....i have replaced so far.. tps idle valve vsv valve coolant temp sensor maf and new airbox fuel pump fuel injectors/rail crank sensor vvt sensors oil pressure switch coil packs spark plugs have replacement ecu but needs toyota workshop to code this to my key!!! ALL THIS STARTED AFTER RUNNING OUT OF FUEL:(
  2. thats your TPS (throttle position sensor)...the cam sensor is just under yout plastic engine cover, to the right of cylinder 4, (2 pin grey plug, and its bolted to the block with 2 10mm nuts....
  3. Probably expect a reply tomorrow dude. The 2ZZ owners don't stay up past 8pm. Hehe I was up till 2 am last night but it was too cold to go outside and check =P 2am?? i not been bed all weekend....its never too cold.....i was pulling my intake camshaft out at 4 am..(portable floodlights are very warm).
  4. Probably expect a reply tomorrow dude. The 2ZZ owners don't stay up past 8pm. lets hope.........i bet someone asks the question......."will doing this break my car or void my warranty"???
  5. basically my sportivo stalls immediatly after starting...to cut a long long story shot ................ can a sportivo (or 2ZZ-GE) owner please unplug your cam position sensor (grey plug on far right of engine block kind of below injector #4......... simply unplug and tell me if car starts??? i want top see if this could be my problem?? (i tried this on my girlfriends 1zz-fe and it starts (after 3 tries) and runs? I AM HOPING THE 2ZZ-GE WONT RUN IF THIS IS UNPLUGGED?????? many thanks for helping with this............i dont know anyone who owns a sportivo and cant seem to find a car yard with one here...
  6. i have one for sale......in perth and i can fit it no probs.if you're over here or i can get it sent to you..its done 60,000k's.....also have a 5 speed manual gearbox for sale (conversion kit with manual ecu, pedals, clutch gear linkages etc etc etc... both ready for sale call me 0425 821975..
  7. ok?....so why would a car thief want to swap a ecu? and i know exactly how to remove the barrel/bypass factory transponder system etc, been fixing cars for almost 15 years....just rebuilt 3 04 -06 corolla's...but the replacement ecu i got came with no key!! and if i coiuld have got the key and receiver ring then i would have just swapped as i know how easy it is.... so is simple to change key/immobiliser without a ecu swap/recode........but to replace ecu we have to get toyota to code it??!!....easy to steal a corolla just hard to replace a broken ecu..........MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL HEY?? any one in perth with a non facelift sportivo want to allow me to try ecu and key swap to see if my car problem is ecu related????? will pay for your trouble and i am mechanic/insured and will take as little as 10 mins???? took ages to find a ecu and toyota arent very helpful at all
  8. sorry if its been discussed before but i cant find answer... really simple question... can i remove my 04 sportivo 2zz-ge ecu and replace with another exactly the same (to see if mine faulty)..without having to recode the ecu and transponder etc....???? i have been told that the new/replacement/spare ecu must be coded to the transpnder system?
  9. go to "mrminit" (the shoe repair /key cutting guys in your local shopping centre)....to supply a key AND code it...$169.... i did not belive the guy when he told me..... so to confirm.... IF U TAKE A WORKING TOYOTA KEY TO HIM HE WILL GIVE U A EXACT SAME WORKING KEY FOR $169.(almost same as a new blank key from toyota) U DO NOT NEED THE CAR TO CODE IT LIKE TOYOTA WILL TELL YOU!!!! TRUST ME.. (they should be reported for lying to us to make heaps of money) does same prices for hsv's with the hsv/gto logo keys etc...he has some fancy computer right there next to his boring old shoe machine ha ha..how times change
  10. as it says.,...if you in perth, work at toyota (for diagnostics device) or good auto electrician etc......PM me...car is 04 corolla sportivo its in beechboro, and really need it running as my mrs smashed her 05 levin and 6 weeks at panel shop with no transport................. hard cash waiting...... PM ME for my number.........oh F$@K it...0425 821975 (darren)
  11. ??????...i read those last few posts a few times and i am still confused?? JUST FIT A PRE FACELIFT HATCHBACK FRONT BUMPER ON THE WAGON/SEDAN (cos thereis no "facelift parts on those cars)...u can now fit a pre face lift lip to your pre facelift bumper thats fitted to your "facelift" sedan wagon..guards,bonnet, lights are same all 05/06 sedans/wagons use prefacelift fronts except new projector lights
  12. oops!!! thats what reading a usa repair guide does ha ha
  13. reading up on our engines to try to fugure out the vacuum lines etrc on a 03 sportivo (stock intake etc) i keep finding mention of a air pump? (apparantly fitted behind passenger side (aus) headlight?? any ideas? mine was crashed so it would have been in a thousand pieces any way but can any one shed any light on this?.....also any one had a broken crankshaft position sensor?...this would cause engine to stall immediatly after starting yeah?
  14. ...face lift or not facelife.........the sedan/wagon front bumper is longer (distance from front of wheel arch to front of bumper) thus meaning the front lip from a hatchback levin/sportivo wont fit as its not long enough at the sides....(CHECK MY POST ABOUT REPAIRING A SPORTIVO....CONTAINS PIC OF HATCH FRONT LIP ON A WAGON FRONT BAR)
  15. 319????? mate there is no way toyota only want 319 for a genuine spoiler! but if by some freak of nature it is then i will guarantee IT IS NOT PAINTED..they will want over 300 to paint it..i priced up a 05 face lift sportivo front skirt and that was unpainted 370 and the tailgates are indeed different but only diff is holes being drilled at factory but its piece of cake to drill 4 holes
  16. anyone tried getting used parts from wreckers etc?? tailgates are 550 (+450 for glass) new but 770 from a wrecker! doors are making 750 each bonnets 400 although rear bumpers are only 180??? i guess cos every damaged corolla has been front ended??!!!
  17. well i got a new screen in my sportivo (african) and they arrived with a top tinted nice screen (they said they fit whatever was fitted from factory....my girlfriends jap built ascent has a clear (not top tinted) screen, but my other african ascent has top tinted screen.....maybe the hot african sun?? hahaha japan dont need sunshade due to smog and strange eyes......( i can say this slighlty racist comment as my girl is asian hahaha)
  18. I did not do this repair to make a quick 15ish grand......i did it to get a very cheap good car.. i also have a s15, vx clubby with vz front and another corolla (2004)....BUT I COULD NOT SELL A CAR I HAVE WELDED TOGETHER COS I AM NOT DODGY ..i will keep the sportivo for a cheap debt free car...(once i sort out efi problem , see other post i think its throttle position sensor cutting fuel thinking its decelerating??) anyone bought a code reader/scanner that works on these corolla's (2zz or 1z's)??
  19. vinnumbers... africa start .........."AHT" Japstart ................"JHT" and believe it or not the doors are different too...the lock/striker position is 30mm higher on african shell, so to fit a jap door means lowering the striker
  20. it was the front driveway mate:)...firstly i drilled out every spot weld on floor pan, exhaust tunnel, wheel arches to "A pillar" on both halfs...(robot spot welds are in precise EXACT places)....line up holes...went crazy with 10mm nuts and bolts:)... then test fitted front guards (which are bolted to front and back sections), bonnet, bumper....hey presto it lines up.....remove front panels....went and bought new mig welder, open 6 pack of jim beam's and spent 2 days and nights awake welding....and after i re welded factory spot welds i seam welded every single seem too... STRONGER THAN ORIGINAL BUT HEAVIER THAN THE TITANIC:) ILLEGAL??? its called a "full sectional body repair" or "car clipping" in usa...(INSURERS AUTHORISE REPAIRERS TO DO IT AND BY LAW DONT HAVE TO TELL OWNER) I DID
  21. i almost cried when i discovered (after waiting for a silver rear end wreck to come up for sale)..that wagons use silver 1CO paint and not the hatch silver which is 199...but dont worry its being fixed:)
  22. MATE INCREASE YOUR MEDICATION:):):):):): hahahhaha the red roughly painted areas were so i knew where to cut out......(trim damaged areas off the body...then keep only those areas on front cut:)
  23. its a 05 wagon front end but the 05-06 sedans and wagons use pre-facelift style panels with a shorter bumper and facelift shaped foglights...(so you're half correct:)
  24. sportivo wreck = $1500 + statutory write off rear ended wagon = $1600 - sold rims off wagon for -$800, and still have engine (50,ks) 5 speed manual gearbox, with harness and ecu, passenger front door, dash parts etc....spent heaps on tools which lat forever :) and usefull on next project.........another 1500 special...now has door and front guards on it..chasing a tailgate in perth if any around...wreckers want 770!!!!
