  1. lol i smell a hater.

from my experience i have stayed with toyota link.

they use mondial for their roadside assist which is way better than RAC i found. rac hire anyone nowadays... if u can answer 60 multi- choice questions and get more than 50 right then you are in. i think mondial is about $99 p/a so if u dont go toyota link then sign up with these guys. i had these guys out when my battery died on my 07 pres.

left my lights on a few times during the day coz i am used to it cutting off when i "take the key out" like in my subi, and left the door agar in my garage coz i was too busy attending to my kids. and they rang me before my battery went flat. yay.

as far as tracking... well yeh its a nice to have but at the end useless. unless u wanna catch your cheating spouse lol. for me i'd want this for my porsche.

mondial replaced my battery for $170 for a 600CCA one.

if u can afford a presara then u can afford the toyota link :P

  2. Here’s to hoping anyway, I’d be hell keen on some headers. Just goes to prove how restrictive the standard system is, chop out the pre cats and she breaths like a champ.

I think we are close to some real work Aurion results. I'm still waiting:

    00UCH what a Aurion!!!!

ok quick update, Im heading out to the T&T tomoro night, the friday im getting my headers installed :) and end of next week gettin a K&N cold air intake. Then on the 17th going to Phoinex lights see what difference it makes. Looking at other specs im hopping for around 260-280hp atw

I personally think 260WHP may be pushing it for expectations... but I tend to be a little pessimistic.

anything over 20kw is pushing in for an N/A engine in my opinion... thats when thing will start being unrelaible

  3. i used those crimp connector things to wire it up. as its only minor power and not a proper stereo.

yeh for the price its awesome. remember its a full headrest. not just the screens. and included dvd too and other things.

to hide the wires. u feed it thru the post hole. u can remove the back cover of the seat (in the presara anyways) by removing two screws from the bottom, and popping off the back panel.

then feed the wires down and under the seat and into the centre console. i wired mine to the accessory port.

  4. u program it yourself. u set the seat profiles as per normal. then u code the smart keys to the profile by pressing a few buttons.

    its all in the manual.

edit: and most salespeople dont even know about this feature (well when i was buying - i knew more about the car than them).

  5. no flaring at all on the 2nd day...

so did the box burn the ATF? why would it be low? they assured me that it wasnt "lost" they were just recommended to add more. but i didnt believe them.

confirmed it drives much better. i think even the shift patterns have changed.

re: replacement grill - i had a 5x2cm piece of paint missing off the grill exposing the chrome when i bought it off the dealer.

so how come toyota can paint over chrome but smash repairers cannot?

haha i miss the huge amounts of pull when it changes gears in a modded car... i did the value body in the Legacy and upped the line pressure. man that think pulled hard in the gear changes.

  6. Finally took my car in for the recall oil line replacement thing. Told them about the transmission flare, and they "topped up" the trans fluid 400mls as recommended by "toyota".

So far so good. even feels like there is a better transfer of power thru the box? it feels like the box is less lazy and there is more torque. could be just because the mechanics thrashed the car and the ecu adapted :P NO MORE FLARING!!!!

Will report back in a few days on this.

also got my grille replaced free as paint was missing from it. real happy about that.

told them about the clunk during takeoff but they said its normal and its the system check. shoulda pushed them to at least change the intermediate shaft spline?

  7. Are the prices we have to pay for Toyota parts seriously justified? A lot of after market parts can be just as near the same quality if not the same and cost way more then half the cost of the original. What are the parts prices based off? Do they make it expensive just for the hell of it?

my fuel flap didnt sit flush when i pick up my car. i manipulated it to how it should be.

note: i did not use love to push it into place

  8. i still do not feel at all safe in the aurion in the wet.

You need good tires. Aurion is very user friendly, if it start loosing traction you will feel it before bad happens. Personally I was driving it to Gold Coast from Melbourne via Dubbo this NYE, if you remember there was very heavy rains, flooding there. On speeds that you dont want to speak about on public forums, Aurion drives like it on rails, very good.

i have the standard tyres and in the wet it doesnt take much to hit the traction control shudder...

yeh i guess its safe but i do not have half the confidence as i do in the scoobaru.

  9. ZRSHIFT you do realise that you are chasing a theoretical HP that you think you should have! The dyno that you went to may not be accurate/calibrated/operated the same and trying to compare it to what someone elses result on a different dyno usually wont work. Yes I know it was a long way out. Was it a Dyno Dynamics dyno done in shootout mode?

When doing performance mods like this it is best to have a before dyno to give you something to compare to what you achieve after the mod using the same dyno.

Also I dont think that 2.5 inch pipe work will give you the end result you are after. My reasoning for this is that even with a 3 inch main pipe you would only need 2.25 inch pipe work to the rear muffers and the Aurions main pipe is only about 2.5 inch so the standard 1.5 inch pipes are ok.

i agree... dynos should only be a tool to measure before and after mods.

dyno days can be a good way to compare but there is still other factors that affect the result that are not controllable.

  10. Just got a pair of headrest monitors. happy with the build quality so i will be installing em soon.

now where do i wire the power to? centre cigarette lighter?

and how do i pull the cable down through the seat?

i have test fitted it and will post some pics up. the colour difference between the leather is minimal.
