Cant really update answer that one unfortunatly dessa, I already had the springs ordered before I picked the car up. Was done on the 2nd day of owning car. I dont find them very hard having the 17s with a fair bit of tyre still cushions the ride.
cheers.. im picking up my new zr in november its for the wife and i have 17inch buddy club rims im putting on so might go the eibach as i had them on my sp25 and they arent bouncy at all

I agree to what's said above. In my honest opinion, it will be not worth it. I suggest buying another car. Did you want a new car? A Toyota? Something with more power? We can help you suggest a car suitable to what you're after. :)
For the rough price you're willing to pay for what you said, you can buy the following:
Camry Sportivo
Aurion Sportivo
Golf 118TSI
Polo GTI
Golf GTI
Focus XR5
WRX
Accord Euro
Civic TypeR
From the top of my head.
you forgot the better one of the lot..mazda 3 mps

This is a known problem with the "Steering Intermediate Shaft" in 2006-2008 models and a TSB has been issued by Toyota in the USA:
