HAHAHAH!! LOLs... its actually true... i couldnt catch up with jeremy's car the other day ROFL :yahoo: :yahoo:

anyway... nice car man... i see good stuff coming :D

    thanks for the comments...

Springs and Shocks this thursday .. and grille and eyelids + colour coded rear mud flaps go on saturday

  2. Ok Here goes....

The Korumburra Cruise. SUNDAY 27th July.

    cruiseKMsandTime.jpg

    235Kms <- Thanks Jaderd!

Meet At 11:0Oam at Corner Warragul and Dandenong Roads.

Theres a Shell Servo and and Subway on the corner with a LARGE carpark we cann all get together in.

    Meet-Point.jpg

    Depart 12:00 - 12:30pm - Drive to Warragul

This trip is the most boring of the cruise... its about an hour or so down the Monash then onto the Princess Hwy. There is 1 fuel stop (toilet/ciggle break) on the way so if you'd like to pause in here let it be known. I'd personally like to get out of the car and have a stretch here at the service centre (old man knees).

Stop at Re Grouping area - 5 mins - Head to Korumburra

    re-group-point.jpg

Just after we get off the M1, there's a few turns (as indicated on the map) that gets us to the road that will take us to Korumburra. We should stop here and allow anyone who wants to go hard through the roads to get up towards the front so they aren't held up by some of us sunday drivers. ;)

This section of road is brilliant... on a Sunday you can expect next to no traffic the entire trip. This road is renowned by Motor Cyclists as a belter... so if there are any that do come up from behind... just let them by... you'd expect the same treatment from anyone else. expect this section to go for about 30 - 40 mins depending on your right foot and courage levels.

    thefunbit.jpg

Arrive Korumburra - regroup - Lunch at the Pub

    Pub-Stop.jpg

Once we get off the road from Warragul turn left toward Korumburra and pull over to the left... you'll know where to stop when you see the space. Once back together... its only a 30 second drive to the Pub Carpark from here... Pull in and get a cold one.

In Korumburra theres a Historic Village called Coal Creek Check the link here if you guys are keen to get the camera's out and have a look at this place. Its hardly an amazing fun park filled with rides and or attractions... but hey its about as Country Victoria as you'll get! Unless we drive to Walhalla. (<- another EPIC cruise) Could be a great experience for some of you to check out real Australiana.

If we decide to stick around... After you've wandered around... we can head back along the South Gippsland Hwy Back to Melbourne.

This road takes us through Loch, Nyora, Lang Lang, Tooradin then Cranbourne... more often then not, its busy with traffic coming home from Phillip Island... Police regulate this road heavily.

    Meet Point - McDonalds Lyndhurst

    Meet-Point2.jpg

Stop here for a quick bite/drink/smoke/stretch/***** and say good byes if need be... the next leg of the trip takes us back to the Monash Freeway where from here we can go home for the evening.

Please Express your interest. There is no minimum attendance requirements for this Cruise... However i'd like to know by the Friday 25th how many people are coming so i can pre-warn the Pub we're coming.

  3. By all means go ahead and organise your track days guys if you want to... but all i was saying is that for a regular meet and greet and get together we should at least do something that EVERYone will feel comfortable doing...

Track days are great for people who have worked their cars... but people who havent.. what incentive is there for them to come... sure its fun... but kinda harder to be competitive or go quick enough when you're car isnt modded for the track.

On a cruise we can all me-ander along... playing music... hit some apex's here and there... and do it all without breaking a sweat. for those that want to push it... let them go for it... for those that would prefer to cruise.. they can come too... everyone wins...

I'd love to see another Big cruise with everyone there like last sunday... i'm just afraid that making a track day as an all over meet isnt going to get as many attendees. But by all means i'm not telling you that you cant go... haha

everyone enjoys their cars in different ways.

    peas.

    [/bKS]

  4. 3.8k to hire, thats actually not too bad

i would imagine a big 21st would cost heaps more :P

i cant justify the expense at all... 21 laps is all you get... not to mention all the damage to the car, wear to tires... all for the sake of some bragging rights. We drive Corolla's. FFS!

    Just a Corolla eh? :P

    image00011hu.jpg

7th, 8th and 13th? Thats hardly amazing... Look i am not Bagging the Sportivo... i own one FFS... all i am saying is that i think if you really want to go and spend some time at the track go for it. But i cant justify it. I would rather go somewhere and Be social.

All you guys with coilovers and slotted Rotors, strut bars and sway bars.. would definately have a blast on the track.. you sure have set your cars up like you belong there you may aswell get there .... once!

  5. and yes we do drive corollas, but why go out and buy things like intake/exhaust/coil overs, if your going to be driving on the street...

    AMEN!!!!!

i dont own any race bits because they are a total waste UNLESS you are on the track a lot... not just once a year. Coilovers FTL

    I love my ride comfort.

But go aahead organise a track day if you want to... i aint gonna stop you. all i am saying is... think of the cool places you could cruise to with $300 of fuel. and you'll still have tyres, brakes and clutch left over.

  6. Ok Guys... this is just for everyone who is interested in a track day. PLEASE NOTE.. I am not organising this... this is just FYI!

Winton Raceway Hires their Track out for Day events. The cost of this is $3500 for the day .. Plus an additional $300 for the Fire and Ambulance people who are Required to be on hand.

  7. Track day and Drag day/night i reckon are probably more suited to smaller groups who really want to do it, alot of ppl might not feel confident or want to really flog their cars down the 1/4 or round a track, i say we try to keep the monthly meets more social and casual and available for all to particpate

Drag cost min $50 and bit of car prep

Track day = Cams licence = $ 110 + car prep + helmet must be warn + track hire costs / entry

    sound fair guys

Im keen as for blind kid seeks last input "So head down the monash / princess hwy to warragul and turn right... to Korrumburra. great roads winding through picturesque country Victoria. Lunch or dinner at korumburra Hotel (has a massive car park) and the cruise back along the South Gippsland Hwy home through Cranbourne."

tame and twisty for those who want to push it a bit and also good chance for all to chat and get to know eachother over afew drinks and lunch

    I agree...

Track days can end up VERY costly if you want to be competitive... Munching tyres and clutches isnt very cruise like. If you have built a track weapon for a car then be my guest... i am all about driving places rather than round and round.

nothing beats some good B roads with a meal and a beer (or a lemonade if your on your P's, or a pansy) at the end.

i'll get all the ground work done if need be.

PS... Last Sunday of every month is gonna be a killer!!! i have a monthly Hip Hop party at Miss Libertines the last Saturday of every month... oh the pain...

  8. one of the components thats been removed as a result of installing the CAI is part of the Idle up mechanism... with this not functioning you will need to revv higher and watch the rev drops... especially with Air con running.

  9. or......

theres another great drive that starts from warragul...

So head down the monash / princess hwy to warragul and turn right... to Korrumburra. great roads winding through picturesque country Victoria. Lunch or dinner at korumburra Hotel (has a massive car park) and the cruise back along the South Gippsland Hwy home through Cranbourne.

thats a little tamer for those worried about black ice.

  10. here here

Lets try make this a regular Monthly thing...

I've got a great idea for the next major long cruise if anyones keen...

Will be a days worth of driving... and Start at Lilydale Lake. From here we drive to Yarra Junction and head east to Noojee, where we can stop for lunch at the Pub. Great Pub Food and cold beers set on a river side spot.

From here we back track along the same road to Yarra Junction, and turn right to Mt Donna Buang. The road to the top is quite steep and full of fast cornering joy! the top is very cold and theres always the chance there's snow/ice on the way up so must keep wits about ones self. Awesome spot for a photo shoot on the way up.

This cruise is about 300+ks long and is full of great roads, with nice open sections mixed with great high rev'd 2nd gear turns. well worth the effort to get this one going.

    thoughts and suggestions welcome.

    Andy.

  12. i read in WHEELS magaizne JULY... all the deliveries on Ford Turboed Sixes have been delayed as the Turbro they fitted was failing.

According to WHEELS as the smaller turbo fitted for higher response was spooling up quicker and longer the Ball Bearing RACE was suffereing from enormouse heatsoak cause the turbo to fail.

    IMO...

    I'd buy the Aurion...

  13. the % is the amount of light that goes through so the lower the number, the darker the tint. I have 18% and it is quite dark, it is still illegal, i think legal in NSW is 25% correct me if im wrong. I got mine done for $220 all windows except front windscreen in Sydney.

Do you know wat is da legal limit in Adelaide, SA?

Would you guys recommend any place in Adelaide that tints cheaply? When i bought mine, the car dealer asked me if i wanted to tint, he said he would do a special price for me, which's around $600!! do u think he just lied to me?

    definately.

  14. SD the Sportivo strut externally is the same as the other models you mentioned but the cartridge internally is a different diameter. 51mm against the 46mm for ZZE122 and NZE 121.

KYB make most of the suspesnion components for the Jap built cars and have done so for years. The thing about TRD strut / spring combo that I don't really like is the spring rates are a little on the soft side for Australian road conditions.

If you are going to buy here in Australia i would go with the springs package as you have mentioned(lows front and super lows rear) but get your mate to give you a price on koni's as well. They do the adjustable and also so I'm led to believe a model down from that that is like a good quality replacement for OEM. KYB stuff is good and I have supplied a bit of it to some people from here over the last few years with drama's at all.

yeah i looked into the Koni Option... but i just cant afford it. The adjustable kit would be nice.. but realistically.. i doubt i would be making adjustments all the time.

So the price i had on the KYb stuff very good.. so pressed the green button, and it arrives mid next week...
