  1. Mate, the pic looks more like satin black to me. 6k is a joke. I just bought 4L primer, reducer, hardener and 4L of satin black for $370 in 2pack. It doesnt require clear coat which will save them/you a heap of work painting, sanding, buffing. Just for outside, I wouldnt pay more than 2k for that kind of job. Remember the more you do yourself, the cheaper it will be. Check with the place first as some get funny about you doing prep work and they can alsways blame you if it turns out crap. Pulling panels off ect is easy though and helps out a bit. Good luck with it. Honestly though, the silver looks great. If my paint looked that good, I wouldnt have even wasted $370 on paint.
  2. HAHA I was actually checking his car out the otherday. Very impressive project. I doubt it would come close performance wise. Comfort though, give me the sportivo anyday. He looks like hes getting serious though, I wonder how long he'll keep the comforts? :D This is down to about 650kg now. 300hp atw and that weight is going to make for an interesting combo at jamboree this year Ive just stripped the roof back to primer last night. No going back now, I have to paint it
  3. I think you mean Martin with the Drag Me skyline. Yeh I know him. Last I heard he was sick of the auto and going back to manual. How do these differ to that of a Road door? With $250 and a days work I got a full set of race panels. El cheapo inspired. Thanks for the coments guys. I look forward to coming on one of your cruises. Im just about to respray the whole car so wont be for a while Cheers Harry
  4. This is my car. specs; 5efe block and crank, 4efte head and sump, Mild head work, ported top of head to lower comp ratio, reground cams with 3mm more lift, stock valve gear and head bolts, CP 8.5:1 pistons, PAR 5e rods rated at 200hp per rod, ground crank, asl Bearings, 720cc injectors, walbro pump + Bosch 044 prototype inline pump, standard fuel rail and reg, Modifyed CAS and smoothed dizzy cap, 4x bocsh coils, 9mm leads, Swift GTi radiator, Zex 75hp shot of nitrous, 3" dump to 3" straight through exhaust, hi-flow cat and cheap ***** cannon, Autronic SM4 ecu + Autronic CDI Garret GT2540 turbo, Kyb shocks and king springs. Had a phtoshoot for a magazine so we added a few ****y bits and some volks. My turbo, TD04l and ct9 Got sick of busting engine mounts Dry carbon bonnet. VERY light weight. Ugly though. Race doors painted with rattle cans Ran 11.7 @ 121mph...not bad. The dyno. Bottom line Is stock cams. Next one is 3mm lift cams. Next one up is stock cams with 55 shot nitrous. (this is what I did the 11.7 with), The next one up again is cams with 55 shot nitrous. Much more agressive. Im now making 300hp atw but no pics of the dyno sheet yet. Rev limiter is 7500rpm. will go higher but stock valve springs just makes valve bounce and the had is also lifting Well thats a quick montage' of the car. What you dont see is the past 2 years of hard work and many problems but its all been worth it. Comments and questions welcome. Cheers Harry
