  1. After you drive it, let us know if you have the imfamous metal scraping noise when accelerating, downshifting etc.
  2. When I took the car in for 1000km service, the guy just told me all he could hear was air intake noise, so I didn't even bother arguing with him since everyone seems to have the same 'problem'. I think I'll just accept it and move on. If it's a real problem, I'm sure something will break before my warranty expires.
  3. It's been about 3 weeks since I got the car and I'm happy with it except that it makes some sort of metal scraping noise when slowing down. It also seems to make that noise when moving from stand still. I'm taking the car in tomorrow for 1000km service and I've told them about the problem. Should I be telling them about something more specific? I hope it can be fixed if it's not normal for the car to make this noise.
  4. In most cases, bubbles should go away after 2-3 days but some films (high-end ones) take longer to dry than others. If it's still there after further 2-3 days, you should get them fixed as it's highly unlikely that it will go away.
  5. Unfortunately, you got done by the usual salesman trick. Mine's June build, and I still got it for a lot less than what you paid. Oh well, not much you can do about it now I guess. Just pisses me off when I hear about these crap sales tactics.
  6. To date, I've never bought/driven a car that didn't get its engine oil changed at 1000km. I was shocked to find out that it wasn't compulsory with Corolla Sportivo. Other manufacturers will often void your warranty if you miss the 1000km.
  7. I'll certainly be taking my car in for 1000km service and get the engine oil changed as well. My car has done just over 500kms now and I couldn't resist myself from redlining it tonight in first gear and it'll probably be the last until I change the engine oil. BTW, does everyone get 'shoooshh~' (sort of metallic noise) when you are on the gas? I can't really remember whether that noise was there or not when I first got it. I'm thinking that it's probably just some sort of induction noise but just wanna make sure it's normal.
  8. I agree with all those points. However, I didn't find the stock tyres to be that bad. Road noise level is pretty good and cornering isn't too bad either. I certainly won't be in a hurry to change them. The gearbox is quite good IMO. It felt very notchy and imprecise at first but after putting a couple of hundred kays on it, it's now very precise and quick to shift. The clutch is not too grabby which makes it easy to drive as well. One minor issue/annoyance I have with the gearbox is where the Reverse gear is located and how it requires so much effort to select. I would have preferred it beside the 6th gear (as in Accord Euro) and not have to use so much force to push it to the left. As for the audio system, it really lacks bass even with the bass level set on the highest setting. I can't really comment on the maximum performance of the car because I've never gone past 6000 rpm yet. I was tempted to try it but I'll resist the temptation until the car's had the 1000km inspection and oil change. The engine needs to be revved a big higher than other engines as expected but it's got more than enough grunt down low for casual, laid-back driving around the city. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the car, especially for the price I've paid for it. :D This might have already been covered but any suggestions for my 1000km oil change? Any particular brand? Should I go full synthetic or semi synthetic? My dealer was saying that I don't really need an oil change at 1000km which I think is a load of bollocks.
  9. In my car, there's a small patch on the passenger side seat which looks worn/torn. I might mention this when I take it in for 1000km service. Or should I ring them up and mention it ASAP? The patch is probably the size of 20 cent coin.
  10. Personally I don't like radical colours like orange or yellow. I'm happy with my black. Racing stripes of sportivo would look ridiculous and very ricy IMO.
  11. I've finally spent some time behind the wheel and I'm very happy with the car. I found the gearbox to be a bit difficult to get used to (as I'm used to very smooth gearbox of my brother's Accord Euro) but after awhile it was shifting very smoothly. I think it's just a matter of getting used to it. My car's build date is June 05 btw.
  12. Thanks Azza. I'll ring the dealer as soon as they open for business. One thing I noticed about Sportivo is that there's so much gap in the wheel arches. Somewhere down the track, I'll have to think about lowering it. By the way, how much insurance are you guys paying on your Sportivo's and who with? I'm with Justcar and pay $822 which include rating one protection. I'm 23 years old.
  13. I picked up my Sportivo yesterday yay~ However, I didn't even get to drive it myself yet. I had my brother pick it up from the dealership and it was raining like crap all day so I didn't reallly wanna go out for my first drive in the rain. I must say it looks so much better in black than the demo car which was blue. I just have one question to you guys, did you guys get cigarette lighter when you got your car? In mine, I just have a blank hole where the cigarette lighter is supposed to be. It looks quite ugly with that big hole and I was wondering whether there should be something to fill in that hole??? I might ring the dealer today and ask about it.
  14. I'm from Brisbane. How many sportivo owners in Brisbane by the way? This is a bit OT but for how much can I get sportivo rear skirt to complete the kit? It's a shame that it doesn't come with the full kit.
  15. I agree. It seems quite expensive for CAI.
  16. I bought my Sportivo (Black) last Saturday which I'll be picking up tomorrow. My initial impression from the test drive was pretty good. I expected it to struggle down low but that wasn't the case at all. I might also add that there were total of 4 people in the car during the test drive. For the price, I think it's an excellent value and I really couldn't think of any other car that came close within that price range when I was researching for my new car. Compared to my brother's Accord Euro Luxury, the gearbox isn't as smooth but it might be partly due to the fact that the demo car only had about 8kms on the clock (not 8000kms). After I get more time behind the wheels, I'll let you know in more detail. I can't wait to drive it tomorrow~ Only if I didn't have to go to work Grrr....
