ADVICE FOR 4AF

Hi guys and gals. I'm new on this forum. Just wondering if you peeps can give me some advice on my 4af. Basically can you tell me what mods can be done to it to improve performance. Now i dont want to swap engines, so please just mods for the 4af. I'm open to all suggestions.

Those should improve throttle response and give you more power. Make it real pokey. That's about it though. If you were looking at aftermarket internals there isn't too much. the 4AGE motor is the one that has a near unlimited supply of performance parts for.

Jason (rollamods) might be able to help you more, as he and his brother (MAP81) are close to walking encyclopeadia's on 4AGE, 4AGZE, 4AFE, 4AGE Silver and Black 20v, 1zz etc.

Really depends on your budget.

If it's low...

Being carb not injected, you can still benefit from an upgraded air filter. As a no cost mod too, the 4AF has an additional plastic snorkle attached to the steel snorkle, you can remove the plastic addition and it shortens your intake tract.

You can fit an exhaust, just be careful with the size, No bigger than 2" I would say and stay away from 'canons' Being a 1.6L they will only sap your torque and give you noise but now extra power.

You won't find too much info here because most members have the newer models, but you can check out toymods.org and twincam.org and you'll find lots of 4AF info and help.

Hi guys. Thanks for the info. I currently have a 44mm 4 into 1 branch and a 50mm freeflow exhaust. I've been told 44mm branch is too big for my car so i'm gonna try something smaller. Thanks again.
