well, I'm living in the hills in Sydney,

just wondering if the new rules now apply in every RTA?

I know the peer, mobile restrictions have been applied as well as the one when P1 holders speed they'd get suspended,

what I heard is that, the road test(the one that u go from ur Ls to Ps) has brought up a new rule,

which is to extend the exam time. (15mins -> 45mins)

As far as I know, the one in North Ryde hasnt brought up the new rule for road test yet, until December.

Im just wondering if any other RTAs are the same?

coz'm gettn my Ps at the end of da month, and I couldnt find any relevent info from the RTA website.

Cheers :yahoo:

RTA rules are state based, not individual area based. Your local council is not going to have different rules to the people in the next suburb. If thats the new rules, I would guess that they dont come into effect until December, simple as that.

Also, the RTA doesnt set the road laws, they just apply them.

"As part of a range of new road safety initiatives to make our drivers and roads safer, a tougher driving test is being introduced in 2007. The test is longer, focuses on hazard perception and has been designed for learners with extensive driving experience. The new test will commence in the Central Coast area in late July with full implementation across NSW by December 2007."

I thought by tht, would mean tht some rtas would have the old test b4 december...

I was in the Wollongong RTA office last week, there was a sign declaring that they started using the new driving test in late October.... looks like a staggered rollout across the state.....
