1gr tone wheel...
G'day all, I had a head gasket replaced on my 1grfe 5 months ago. Since then I've been having power issues and 3 weeks ago it completely cut out. After a bit of mucking around, I was able to find a mechanic who told me the tone wheel had slipped back on the crankshaft, which has thrown the sensor... it's also bent the tone wheel and filled the crak angle sensor with metal shavings. The ute has just ticked over 300k, I'm wondering if I give up on it and buy a 1kd, or look into chasing up the idiots who put it back together after the head gasket.(they did a cv boot at the same time and held it in place with fencing wire and zip ties. Not the brightest bunch) Anything thoughts or sympathy appreciated. -

Can we use ULP 91 or E10 on Kluger Hybrid 2022
Hi guys. I've got my Kluger Hyrid 2022 just few days ago. The fuel tank still nearly full but when checking the tank cap, I noticed it states "PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL ONLY, No Diesel" and "PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL RECOMMENDED, E10 FUEL SUITABLE". I called my dealer and he said I can use ULP 91 if I want, no issue. But I'd like to clarify: 1) When the car specifies "RECOMMENDED", does that means ULP 91 is acceptable, or I must strictly use 95 or 98. 2) Has anyone tried E10 in this type of car? If so, was it beneficial or not worth it. This is my first experience with a hyrbid car and I normally just use ULP 91 to save my money. Thanks -

What can cause 2x bolts Missing on break calipers?
In my humble experience with our car and Toyota - the majority we came across travelling around Australia towing a van is they are uncaring, irresponsible and possibly dangerous. One of them forgot to tighten the front wheel. Imagine the disaster if the wheel had decided to part company at 90kph towing a 3t caravan. -

Towing with landcruiser 300 series
Good practice to tow in 4th. Lots of information on the now defunct LCCOL forum but everyone was in agreement about towing in 4th. I have done this towing a 3.5t rated van. Fuel consumption is so similar it is not an issue. It is more about getting the engine spinning. New diesel like to spin as opposed to chug along like the old style ones. Proof for me was when I had the ECU remapped and installed a lockup kit. Whilst the car was happy to hold 5th and 6th - extra power and locked - the EGTs were telling a different story. Towing in 4ht at a GPS 90 - 95 kph turned out to be the best combination for forward progress and fuel consumption. -

Remote batteries going flat very quickly
There was a post on the now defunct LCOOL forum whereby you could put your remote in a 'sleep' state and save the battery. It seems the remote is constantly looking for a signal which in turn drains the battery. -

Major Oil Leak
tragedy has struck 😔... my 07 SX6 suffered a major oil leak this morning. Got a low oil pressure alert, pulled over. dip stick was bone dry with small amounts of metal flakes on the end. i'm assuming the leak is caused by either the oil cooler lines or the vvti rubber line deterioration. Car has been towed to my house. Whats the best course of action now? fix the leak and do a few oil flushes? or do i need a whole new motor?
